Barclays fantasy premier league – forwards GW22 “ones to watch”

Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s the “ones to watch” for forwards on the Barclays fantasy premier league team.  As I’ve said for midfielders Iv’e ditched the buy hold sell format and just ranked them.     This will give the best forward players at a variety of price ranges

Barclays fantasy premier league – forwards GW22 “ones to watch”

There is no rule for forwards just pick the best ones especially now with goals virtually guaranteeing bonus points:

I’ve provided the following stats to support the player choices and to guide you in your decisions.  I’ve now moved this to this year’s stats:

1.  Goals and assists this year.

2.  Time per point scored this year.  This is how many minutes it takes for a Barclays fantasy premier league point to be scored over the course of the season.  The lower the better obviously.   I’ve now moved to this years stats

3.  Rotation risk.  High, medium or low.  High is the greatest risk of rotation.

4.  Fixture ease ranking:  The link is at the bottom of the article but essentially I’ve ranked all the teams by the ease of the first 6 fixtures.  The team with the best ranking ie 1 will have the easiest next fixtures of any of the fantasy premier league teams over the next 6 games.

5.  Consistency:  The % of times that the player got a goal or assist   as a % of games played

6.  I’ve also ranked them in their categories as who I think is currently the best choice

7.  I’ve added a new feature.  The last 5 return consistency rate.  This will show the amount of games in the last 5 played that have resulted in a goal or assist

8.  I’ve also added how many of the top 10 fantasy premier league managers I’ve followed.

Forwards

1.  Suarez (£13.4m)

Goals and assists: 21 goals and 12 assists:     Time per point scored:  8.1  mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 13th.  Consistency 13/16    81%               Last 5 return consistency rate:  4/5    How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow:  10

Another incredible performance with 2 goals against one of the best away defences.  Stats are incredible.  A must have

2.  Aguero (£12.0m)

  • Goals and assists:  13 goals 8 assists.  Time per point scored:  9.6 mins  .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 1st.  Consistency 11/15  73%          Last 5 return rate:  4/5    How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow: 0

The only striker to even come close to Suarez this season.  Fabtastic returns and fantastic underlying stats for shooting and creating chances.  Pellegrini hasn’t decided that he will start.  He’s pretty lethal from the bench anyway as Blackburn found out when he scored after 50 seconds.  He’s a must have.  The only question is whether you buy him now or risk another week.  I’m personally buying

3.  Sturridge (£9.2m)

  • Goals and assists:  10 goals 3 assists.  Time per point scored:  11.7 mins  .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 13th.  Consistency 10/13  77%          Last 5 return rate:  3/5    How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow: 0

Amazing reintroduction with a goal and an assist in 25 minutes.  He’s not an alternative to Suarez.  However if Suarez wasn’t in his team he would be in everyones team like a shot.  Fantastic returns fantastic consistency.  Hasn’t been any doubts cast over whether he will start but its always a risk after being out for a reasonable period.

3.  Adebayor (£7.8m)

  • Goals and assists:  3 goals 3 assists.  Time per point scored:  12.5 mins mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 20th.  Consistency since Sherwood 4/ 5   80%          Last 5 return rate:  4/5    How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow: 4

In great form with 3 goals and 3 assists in the 5 games since’s he’s come back into the team.  Will benefit from Sherwoods more attacking philosophy.  Has dropped off in the shooting stats but still creating chances aplenty.   The obvious question is its fine to do it over 5 games, can he over the rest of the season.

5.  Negredo (£9.9m)

  • Goals and assists:  9 goals 4 assists.  Time per point scored: 13.8  mins .  Rotation risk: medium.   fixture ease ranking: 1st.  Consistency     11/20  55%        Last 5 return rate:  3/5    How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow: 4

He maybe cheaper than Aguero but although his returns have been impressive and improving he is no Aguero.  Will be held by a number of people because of uncertainty over whether Aguero will start.  Improving though and reasonable underlying shooting and creating chances stats now

Now returned in his last 3 games.  Can he really be over that spell when he returned once in 8 games?  Could be a risk if Arsenal buy a big name striker.  Should play against Fulham given that he should be rested for the FA Cup game against Coventry.   Not creating chances but still has reasonable shooting stats

7.  Welbeck (£7.3m)

  • Goals and assists:  8 goals 2 assists.  Time per point scored:  12.9 mins mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 15th.  Consistency 9/15  60%          Last 5 return rate:  4/5    How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow: 0

Very impressive returns and form.  Judging by the ridiculous comment from Moyes re RVP of “I’m hoping Robin has a good chance of training at the start of next week”.  Could you be any more vague.  Is it normal now for Moyes to have 2 levels of vagueness in that he “hopes” and “chance”.  If you can take anything as being accurate from him that would mean Welbeck still has some time playing up top.  Only a finisher.  Doesn’t create chances so no assists will be forthcoming.  Chelsea away next is a hard time to buy though

8.  Lukaku (£8.8m)

  • Goals and assists  9 goals 5 assists.  Time per point scored:  14.9 mins  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 18th.  Consistency for Everton  11/17   65%  Last 5 return rate:  2/5    How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow: 8

Held by a lot of people for the Norwich home game.  I suspect we could see quite a drop in ownership despite getting a rather fortunate assist.  It will be interesting to see what the top 10 fantasy premier league managers do with him this weekend.  Has dropped off a little as you can see from returning in only 2 of the last 5.  Underlying stats nothing to write home about either as are the fixtures.

Forget early season this is all about recent form.  3 goals and an assist in his last 5 games and returning in 4/5.  Was very unlucky not to score against Sunderland as had some great chances.  Away to Arsenal is not the time to buy though although he maybe playing to impress.

Has now started 3 games in a row.  2 goals in the City game to show for the 3 starts.  Definitely knows where the net is but needs the chances to go to him.  Doesn’t create chances for others so don’t expect assists.  Fulham at home next week would be a better time to buy that Spurs at home.

Budget Strikers

Here’s a few strker options if you want to go cheap and invest further in your midfield

1.  Rodriguez (£6.3m)

2 goals and  an assist in his last 5 but only returned once in his last 5.  Fantasy premier league points per minute of 17.8 is respectable for the price.   Not much in the way of underlying stats.

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Sunderland (A)
Arsenal (H)
Fulham (A)
Stoke City (H)
Hull City (A)
West Ham (A)

2.  Hooper (£6.1m)

1  goal and an assist in his last 5 games.  Returning in 2 of those games.   With a fantasy premier league points per minute of 18.1 he’s good value.    Underlying stats are nothing great but what you would expect from the value.

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Hull City (H)
Newcastle (H)
Cardiff City (A)
Man City (H)
West Ham (A)
Tottenham (H)

3.  Chamakh (£4.8m)

After scoring in 3 consecutive games it’s now 4 without returning.  One for 3-5-2 only.
