BARCLAYS FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE RELEASE MORE VALUES – TEVEZ £9.0m!

News

Come on now, just open the site will you!  Its like some sort of fantasy premier league x factor where there is a stupid long pause before they tell you who’s going home.

Tevez

But Tevez at 9.0 that’s a real fantasy premier league bargain.  However before us fantasy premier league managers start throwing him in to our team there’s a few things to consider

1.  Is he staying?

The Argentinian golf champion wasn’t exactly on Mancini’s Christmas card list last year and its no secret Man City want to buy RVP (well who wouldn’t?). Even Sheik Mansour has to say no at some stage and with financial fair play you can only have so many players earning £250k per week.  Dzeko seems destined to leave which will help but it may take Tevez going to allow space for RVP.  Rumours are in full swing over AC Milans interest and these factors combined may mean we fantasy premier league managers will never get the chance to um and er over Tevez being in Mancinis opening day line up at Home to Southampton

2.  Will he play?

This is the conundrum even if he does start.  Mancini isn’t quite in the Lambert rotation crazy stakes but he’s not exactly in the “I only use 13 players camp” of Harry Rednapp either. He generally plays 2 forwards as it gets a bit hard to justify having over half a million a week on the bench.  Most of us fantasy premier league managers though expect that Aguero is going to play, which leaves a battle for Tevez and Balotelli.  If Ballotelli had a stinker at the Euros then the question would be less difficult but he was excellent.  His all round game and height does make City a more rounded team than the 2 small forwards.  However, to me City still play better with Aguero and Tevez up front.

At the moment its too much of a gamble for me as a fantasy premier league manager especially in the no reserve formats of the Telegraph and Sky Sports.  I’ll be watching Man City closely in pre-season to get any hints but Aguero still seems the safest option.  If RVP arrives though all us fantasy premier league managers will need to get our thinking caps on and start again.

In terms of price in the other formats, there’s no such kindness:

Telegraph

Tevez £6.4m  – 6th most expensive striker

Compared to Aguero £6.7m, Cisse P  £6.4m,  Torres £6.5m

At the moment fantasy premier league managers will be going for Aguero, no question

Sky Sports

Tevez £9.4m – 6th most expensive striker

Compared to Aguero £9.9m, and Ba £9.3m

Again fantasy premier league managers will be going for Aguero without doubt.

Giroud

Giroud in the barclays format is priced at £9.0m.  At the risk of repeating myself he’s only an option if RVP leaves and even then arsenals tricky start means that I wont be going forward with Giroud even if RVP does leave.

In the other formats:

Telegraph

He’s the10th most expensive striker at £6.1m between Ba at £6.0m and Bent at £6.3m. Quite good value but fantasy premier league managers should still not be tempted.

Sky Sports

He’s the 11th most expensive striker at £8.7m in between Holt at £8.7m and Crouch at £8.8m

Again, fantasy premier league managers should still not be tempted.

 Jelavic

One of my favourite strikers from last year.  Fantastic shot statistics, lethal finisher and  no competition for places in the team.  That, together with a good set of opening fixtures for Everton means that he’s definitely on my opening fantasy premier league team radar.  His price this year in barclays fantasy premier league is £8.5m.  Up from £5.5m from last year.  However, its still reasonable value compared to £9.5m Cisse.

Here’s how he looks in the other formats:

Telegraph

He’s the 15th most expensive striker at £5.8m between Welbeck at £5.8m and Sturridge at £5.7m.

Good fantasy premier league value and worth considering

Sky Sports

He’s the 21st most expensive striker at £8.1m between Bent at £8.1m and Zamora at £8.2m

Good value again especially when Crouch is £8.8m.  Will be high on my fantasy premier league radar.

Look forward to more this weekend
