Best fantasy premier league defences and the best defenders for DGW36 and on

Fantasy Premier League, Gameweek analysis, Player Rankings

Here’s my views on the best fantasy premier league defences and the best defenders in fantasy premier league for DGW36 and on.

I’ve put the best fantasy premier league defenders and/ or GK if thats the best option,  name for each team with an emphasis  on value, but also game time security and attacking potential against the home defensive ranking.  I’ve analysed each team based on the last 10 games using a variety of defensive stats.  Ive added the fixture ease in brackets

1.  Man Utd (7 fixture ease rank)  – De Gea £5.9m  Evans £5.3m

2.  Chelsea (11 FE/DGW) – Cech Azpilicueta £5.6m

3.  Liverpool (12 FE) – Carragher £5.0m

4.  Arsenal (8 FE)- Sagna £4.8m

5.  Manchester City (1 FE DGW) – Clichy £5.7m

6.  Everton  ( 20 FE)- Distin £5.3m

7.  Stoke (17 FE)- Wilkinson £4.0m

8.  WBA ( 13 DGW)- Olsson £4.9m

9.  Spurs ( 3 FE DGW)- Dawson £4.4m

10.  Wigan ( 2 FE DGW)- Stam £3.8m

11.  Southampton (14 FE) – Clyne £4.2m

12.  Norwich (6  FE) – R Martin £4.3m

13.   Swansea  ( 10 FE DGW)- Rangel £4.7m

14.  Fulham (5 FE)- Hangeland £4.8m

15.  West Ham ( 4 FE) – Demel £4.1m

16.  Sunderland ( 9 FE)- Cuellar £4.3m

17.  QPR (18 FE) – Hill £4.3m

18.  Aston Villa (15 FE) – Lowton £4.5m

19.  Newcastle  (16 FE) – S Taylor £4.6m

20.  Reading ( 19 FE) – Mariappa £3.9m

A few points to note.  United over the last 10 games are by far and away the best defensive team and hopefully youve got some coverage.  De Gea is essential as everyone apart from the over priced Evra is rotated significantly.

Man City have been affected by the absence of Kompany and I think they could very well get 3 clean sheets from the last 4.  Again rotation is a big issue but Komapny and Hart are a big price so go for Clichy as the next best bet.

Stoke have improved significantly recently and now look like a viable option.  Unfortunately the injury to Wilson means that he has run its course and Wilko is probably the best option but still subject to some fiddling by Pulis with him fighting it out with Cameron and Shotton for the FB spots.  Huth and Shawcross are too expensive.

WBA despite the 8th spot I’m a little dubious about but Olsson or McAuley are the best.  there’s no question about spurs.  Dawson is an absolute bargain especially as despite good underlying stats they just cant get a clean sheet.

Stam with Figueroa and Alcaraz injury doubt has become a bargain for DGW Wigan

Swansea are also a DGW team.  Davies is the cheapest but Rangel has the attacking stats to make the extra cash worthwhile
