fantasy premier league – 2 to buy, 2 to sell, 2 to hold and 2 differentials

Fantasy Premier League

I thought my fantasy premier league articles have become very detailed and stats orientated which is probably fair enough given the sites name.  However, I thought some may appreciate a shorter punchier article with a few players mentioned and only a short paragraph on each rather than loads of stats.  In any case, detail can be found on most players in the “ones to watch” articles or in the case of sells possibly in my “bandwagons and sinking ships”  article.  The players are meant to be permanent buys not just for GW28.  I’ll try and make it reasonably topical so the 2 buys wont be Sturridge and Suarez for example

2 to buy

Adebayor (£8.3m)

Been in great form since Sherwood has put him into the team.  Has a really juicy fixture next home to Cardiff and also no blanks in GW28/29 will help get you through these gameweeks with maximum players on the pitch.  A few tricky games after the Cardiff game is the only negative

Ivanovic (£6.5m)

Chelsea are the best defence in the league and representation over the next period is essential.  They could easily warrant double coverage in your fantasy premier league team.  Ivanovic after a bit of an injury break shouldn’t be rotated and has excellent attacking potential.  Next fixture against a Fulham team that will be focusing on improving their defence according to the manager is a good place to start

2 to sell

Dzeko (£6.9m)

You’d be justified in selling him for that miss against Stoke alone.  However that doesn’t need to even come into it.  No game in GW28 and GW29 plus Aguero coming back soon.  This will give City 4 fit forwards, and will necessitate rotation for the 4 competitions they are still in.  All this means that he is a nailed on sale.

Adam Johnson (£6.8m)

Like Dzeko no game in GW28 and GW29 and that alone is a good reason to sell.  Sunderland have a number of postponed games to make up plus a DGW31 but they also have some tricky fixtures as well.  Over this period value is bound to drop.

2 to hold

RVP (£13.6m)

It may seem crazy to have £13.6m on your bench when United aren’t playing in GW28 next but RVP is one of the few captain options for the very reduced gameweek 29 when they are away to WBA.  It will also preserve another player for the double gameweek 31.  Plus they have excellent fixtures after that double gameweek.  Given the crisis at United and the amount of rest he has had it seems difficult to believe that he will be rested in the run in.  The body language isn’t great at the moment to say the least but he’s still scoring and pen duties sill keep that ticking over.

Rodriguez (£6.6m)

Seems to be sold quite heavily at the moment.  Ok he has dipped with his scoring in recent games but why would you sell someone who will play both the reduced fixtures of GW28 and GW29.  Surely you’ve got other areas to concentrate on?

2 differentials

Snodgrass (£5.9m)

ownership of 3.6% of fantasy premier league managers

No blanks in GW28 and GW29 Snodgrass continued a little bubble of form with the winner over Spurs.  Despite the lack of goals Norwich have been unlucky in recent games.  Snodgrass, although a flank player, gets into the box regularly and also has free kicks and corners.  Is in the mix for penalties depending on others on the pitch.  Has good fixtures coming up as well.

Charlie Adam (£5.8m)

ownership of 3.9% of fantasy premier league managers

Will also get you thorugh the reduced fixtures in GW28 and GW29 without any blanks.  Similar player in fantasy premier league terms to Snodgrass in that he has free kicks corners and pens plus is in the mix for penalties.  More central than Snodgrass but probably a player who relies on his excellent shooting from outside the box than Snodgrass.  Fixtures are a little mixed with a difficult game next in Arsenal.
