Player analysis

Defences

The City defensive stats weren’t that impressive despite the clean sheet.  In terms of shots the Spurs defensive stats weren’t that bad but they gave away far too many clear cut chances.  They just couldn’t handle City on the break.  Why AVB played Kaboul who’s only played a couple of games up against the top attack is beyond me.  The same for Lamela who’s only played a couple of games.  Both were terrible defensively

YYT

Just an assist today.  Keeping up consistency though.  5 goals and 2 assists is impressive though in 12 games.  Still think he will burn himself out though as plays too deep but continues to confound.

Navas

Incredibly 2 goals and an assist.  Previous to this he had only 2 assists in 432 minutes of football. To me he’s too expensive and plays to wide to consistently return.  However today he had good shooting and creating chances stats

Nasri

Incredibly no returns in this 6-0 win.  Only an assist in the 7 goal smashing of Norwich.  A major disappointment for fantasy premier league managers who have taken him in to fill the Silva void.  Created a few chances but only 1 shooting chance when he hit the bar and nil penalty box threat.

Negredo

Is getting a fantasy premier league point every 12.6 minutes.  Incredible return. Game time is the issue.  In the first 12 games he’s averaged 58 minutes.  He’s started 8 but been a sub in the other 4.  He’s also in the same team as Aguero and fighting for a place in a very competitive fantasy premier league forward spot.   Shooting stats were reasonably good.  Seems to make the most of his chances.  Funnily enough the reverse was his criticism in Spain.

Aguero

How incredible is this guy?  2 goals and an assist.  Returned in 9/12 games.  Looking like a must have.  Great shooting stats to back it up with.

Paulino

A couple shots but no returns. Subbed at 60 mins.  No returns in 4 now.

Soldado

Incredibly disappointing.  Did nothing

Cardiff 2 Manchester United 2

Cardiff: Marshall 6, Theophile-Catherine 6, Caulker 6, Turner 5, Taylor 6, Cowie 6, Medel 7, Mutch 7 (Kim 77 6), Whittingham 7, Odemwingie 6 (Noone 65 6), Campbell 7 (Cornelius 84 6).
Subs not used: Hudson, Gunnarsson, Lewis, Bellamy.
Goals: Campbell 33, Kim 90 Assists:  Whittingham Mutch
Booked: Caulker, Whittingham, Theophile-Catherine, Kim

Man Utd: De Gea 6, Smalling 6, Ferdinand 7, Evans 6, Evra 7, Fellaini 6, Cleverley 5, Valencia 6, Rooney 7, Januzaj 6 (Welbeck 68 6), Hernandez 6 (Giggs 73 6).
Subs not used: Anderson, Lindegaard, Nani, Young, Buttner
Goals: Rooney 15, Evra 45 Assists:  Hernandez Rooney
Booked: Rooney Cleverley

Line ups

Cardiff:  Mutch started instead of Gunnarson.

Man Utd:  Smalling got the RB slot.  Ferdinand and Evans the CBs.  Valencia and Januzaj the flanks.  Hernandez got the striking role with RVP not fit.

Player analysis

Defences:

Cardiff struggled defensively against Utd.  Not unexpected.  However United stats were and continue to be poor.  Especially when you consider the strength f the opposition attacking wise.  How does Kim win the ball in a free kick situation

Campbell

Excellent game scoring.  Don’t get too excited. His first goal since his fantastic GW2 display against Man City.

Januzaj

This is the type of game you would want your cheapie to produce.  Saw a reasonable amount of ball but didn’t produce much in the way of shots or create chances.

Rooney

A goal and an assist plus the maximum bonus.  Was fantastic.  For a change good shooting stats and as usual created a bundleful of chances.  Rooney just keeps returning.  Returned in each of his last 5 and in 9/12 games.  Incredible

That’s it.  Hope fantasy premier league gameweek 12 is going well so far
