fantasy premier league analysis – GW35 review Saturday

Fantasy Premier League, Gameweek analysis

Here’s my fantasy premier league analysis of the Saturdays GW35 games.  Remember it’s seperate from the Geek detective articles which answer questions that we wanted prior to the gameweek.  This deals with seperate points of interest during the gameweek

Willian

One of the notable things of Chelsea’s loss to Sunderland was the complete set piece dominance of Willian who took virtually all the corners and free kicks.  His assist resulted from a corner.  At £7.5m he’s a bargain given his position within Chelsea and their fixtures.  Gametime will always be an issue (although he has started the last 3) for any Chelsea attacking midfielder but you get a good price and set pieces for that risk. When Lampard starts he can dilute that though.   Willian’s  involvement in the game was also excellent.  He had more touches, played and recieved more passes in the final third.  It’s rare you get 3 bonus points without scoring and being on the losing side but he totally deserved it.

Eriksen

Unbelieveably good set piece delivery resulted in 2 assists and 3 bonus points.  It’s now 55 points in the last 5 games.  Fixtures are a little mixed but Spurs attacking strategy will always bring goals.  By the way Kabouls goal was no fluke.  he’s an excelllent attacking defender.  Great value at £4.6m

Stoke City (A)
West Ham (A)
Aston Villa (H)

Harry Kane/ Rodallega

2 cheapie forwards if you want to invest in your midfield.  Kane at £4.4m has scored in 3 consecutive games. Even with Soldado fit it’s hard to see him getting back in.  If you want to invest in your midfield he is an option.   Rodallega at £5.0m  had scored in 2 consecutive games before this and was unlucky not to score again in this game.  Here’s Rodallegas fixtures

Hull City (H)
Stoke City (A)
Crystal Palace (H)

Whittingham/ Arnautovic and Jedinak pens

All 3 converted pens yesterday.  Whittingham had always been the penalty taker but has just returned to the side.  However Arnautovic got the job as Walters has been on the bench and Jedinak presumably due to Puncheons miss earlier in the season at Spurs.  Worth remembering if you’re thinking of investing in a cheap midfielder

Bony

Since he got into the team regularly he’s scored 10 goals and 2 assists in 17 games.  At £7.2m thats a pretty good return.  Nothing wrong with the fixtures

Aston Villa (H)
Southampton (H)
Sunderland (A)

Palace defence

5 clean sheets in the last 7 games.  Unbelieveable.  You may have missed the boat though if you have invested looking at the up coming fixtures

Man City (H)
Liverpool (H)
Fulham (A)

Sidwell

He may not be the most glamourous midfielder.  A box to box midfielder for Fulham isn’t normally top of your shopping list.  However for midfielders under £6m he’s second in total points to Jason Puncheon and ahead of Jordan Mutch.  He’s also started every game except 2.  Unfortunately his missed penalty yesterday may have ended that little bonus avenue.  Here’s his fixtures.

Hull City (H)
Stoke City (A)
Crystal Palace (H)

Southampton

2 consecutive blanks for Saints.  The Cardiff game could be excused as it was a siege and Saints were unlucky.  Yesterday was different.  The lack of chances was exremely disturbing.  Fixtures aren’t great.  With DGW37 coming up it maybe time for FPL managers to consider Lallana and Lambert making way.

Everton (H)
Swansea (A)
Man Utd (H)

Ramires

Could face retrospective action for his slap on Larsson.  Be very wary if you’re thinking of buying him for some reason.

Thats it.  On to Sunday.
