Hopefully this will help you make your choice of transfers for GW14. There’s also a link to the full range of stats in our Google spreadsheet

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE BEST FORWARD TRANSFERS GW14 – “ONES TO WATCH”

Here’s the table of stats. As I said in earlier articles I was concerned that the table of stats had become a little cluttered and hard to read so I’ve replaced it with a simplified version. The headings are self explanatory. The fixt ease column shows the easiness ranking of the next 6 and 3 fixtures. Use this link to see the full fixture ease article. Also if you want to see the midfielders the top 10 FPL managers I follow have in their team click here .Prices are as of Thursday. The table of stats has 16 players but the narrative concentrates on the top 10 forwards only. You can also view the full table of stats for all 16 players with lots of additional columns of stats as a google spreadsheet with the link immediately below

Here’s the link to the google internet spreadsheet for the full stats tables with alot more info.

Here’s some narrative on the top 10 players. Not feasible to do all 16 unfortunately

KANE

Anyone who has Swansea, Hull and Burnley as home games in the next 4 is going to be ranked fairly highly lets face it.  What are the chances of meeting the 3 worst defensive sides in such a short space of time at home.  Kane certainly has good returns and recent form.  If you were looking at negatives you would say his underlying shooting stats could be better but thats about it

Swansea (H)
Man Utd (A)
Hull (H)
Burnley (H)
Southampton (A)
Watford (A)

COSTA

The Chelsea striker just keeps on returning with a goal or assist in 11 of his first 13 games which is incredible.  The underlying stats are also good.  If you were being picky you might say he is overperforming the shooting stats.  Man City away may not be the greatest time to transfer him in but after that the fixtures are good.  It’s worth remembering that he’s on 4 yellow cards and 1 YC away from a suspension before the new year

Man City (A)
West Brom (H)
Sunderland (A)
Crystal Palace (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Stoke (H)

AGUERO

The Man City striker punished those who ditched him last week with 2 goals.  I guess you could definitely be picky with his consistency over the season. However his underlying shooting stats are the best in the league bar none which is reassuring if you start wobbling every time he doesn’t score in a game

Chelsea (H)
Leicester (A)
Watford (H)
Arsenal (H)
Hull (A)
Liverpool (A)

IBRAHIMOVIC

It seems like all the near misses and the outstanding opposition GK performances are finally getting a visit from the law of averages and the ball is starting to go in the net for the Man Utd striker.  Only Aguero has better underlying shooting stats.  While we could dismiss his bad luck as a nervous trigger finger in some young pup or a player with a questionable history this guy has been putting the ball in the back of the net for years.  The next 2 fixtures could be better but they improve markedly after that

Everton (A)
Spurs (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
West Brom (A)
Sunderland (H)
Middlesbrough (H)

DEFOE

The veteran Sunderland striker just keeps on returning.  While his strike partner Anichebe may not help Sunderlands defensive stats you could be thinking he is providing the distraction that has helped Defoe get the 2 goals and 2 assists in his last 3 games.  Good if not fantastic underlying shooting stats

Leicester (H)
Swansea (A)
Chelsea (H)
Watford (H)
Man Utd (A)
Burnley (A)

SLIMANI

The Leicester striker has made a good start to the premier league with 4 goals and an assist in 5 starts and 2 sub appearances for the club.  Does appear to be over performing his shooting stats but whatever the case it’s a good start.  The problem is that for whatever reason the manager appears to be concentrating on the Champions  League and gametime security is just not there, rotation is rife.

Sunderland (A)
Man City (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Stoke (A)
Everton (H)
West Ham (H)

ANICHEBE

In seasons gone by the Sunderland striker has appeared unplayable for a few games and then just disappeared through injury or loss of form.  Hard to know what this version is going to do but it’s certainly a good beginning with 3 goals and an assist in his first 3 starts of the season.  Some reasonable positives on the underlying stats front although a small sample

Leicester (H)
Swansea (A)
Chelsea (H)
Watford (H)
Man Utd (A)
Burnley (A)

AUSTIN

After a Palace defensive performance that would have made the walking dead extras ashamed the Southampton striker must be really looking forward to playing them in GW14.  Very good underlying shooting stats back up his 6 goals and 1 assist from his 9 starts and 3 sub appearances.

Crystal Palace (A)
Middlesbrough (H)
Stoke (A)
Bournemouth (A)
Spurs (H)
West Brom (H)

NEGREDO

There’s no doubt that having Hull next is having a  positive effect on his ranking.  It’s certainly not the 1 assist in 10 game spell which has been the very lean meat in the sandwich in between a good start to the season and 2 goals in his last game against Leicester.  Very little in the way of shooting stats to give you confidence you just have to hope that the goals against Leicester in GW13 are going to produce that

Hull (H)
Southampton (A)
Liverpool (H)
Swansea (H)
Burnley (A)
Man Utd (A)

LUKAKU

I’d like to say something positive here I really would.  I’d like to say that despite blanking in  the last 3 games that his underlying stats have held up.  But I can’t.  I’d like to say that after United next the few fixtures following will be easy.  But I can’t.  I’d like to say that in the last few games at least the team have been scoring and creating chancesand I’m sure that will rub off but I can’t do that either.  The positive is that he is a streaky scorer and you just have to hope that another streak of returns are on their way

Man Utd (H)
Watford (A)
Arsenal (H)
Liverpool (H)
Leicester (A)
Hull (A)

Hope that helps your transfer decisions. Remember there are more players and more stats in the expanded version of the google spreadsheet above. Here again is the link to the sheet
