Costa

Really little is needed to be said.  Top goal scorer, top FPL points scorer and best overall underlying shooting and creating chances stats for any forward.  Only question is gametime.  Played against Sporting after Mourinho said he couldn’t play 2 games in a week.  Hard to see him not lining up against Arsenal though.  If you’re not convinced by that then the 65% ownership should do so.

Arsenal (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (A)
QPR (H)
Liverpool (A)
West Brom (H)

Pelle

Has started very well with 4 goals and an assist in his first 6 games.  Now returned in his last 4.  Also backed up by some of the best underlying shooting and creating chances stats so this run is no fluke.  Good fixtures to come as well after the Spurs game.  13% ownership still makes him a differential

Spurs (A)
Sunderland (H)
Stoke (H)
Hull (A)
Leicester (H)
Aston Villa (A)

Aguero

Last years top FPL points scorer per minute (including Suarez) has started where he left off with a points per minute only bettered by Costa.  A big differential with 11 % ownership.  Unfortunately can’t get him in my team at the moment with Di Maria.  Only concern is gametime which is exacerbated with Jovetic coming back from injury.  Has had fitness and injury worries last year and over the World Cup.  Fitness and the resultant rotation apart he is a great captain alternative.  Fantastic shooting stats although not creating chances like last season.  Fixtures are ok but Man City and Aguero score irrespective of the opposition

Aston Villa (A)
Spurs (H)
West Ham (A)
Man Utd (H)
QPR (A)
Swansea (H)

Welbeck

Disappointing in the Spurs game in not converting a number of chances highlighted by his air shot for the Ox’s equaliser.  Although seemingly put behind him with the excellent midweek Champions League hat trick.  Has good shooting and creating chances stats it’s just whether he can finish and maybe he’s put that to bed.  Fixtures are ok after the Chelsea game this week

Chelsea (A)
Hull (H)
Sunderland (A)
Burnley (H)
Swansea (A)
Man Utd (H)

Ulloa

After returning against Everton, Arsenal and Man Utd his invisible performance against Palace was a big disappointment.  Hard to know at this stage the longevity of his scoring potential.  His underlying shooting stats are ok but not even as good as say Berahino.  His Championship pedigree again is ok but nothing special.  What he does have though is fixtures starting with Burnley at home who were awful defensively against WBA so if you’re going to gamble then nows the time

Burnley (H)
Newcastle (A)
Swansea (A)
West Brom (H)
Southampton (A)
Sunderland (H)

Lukaku

A very slow start although Martinez has said he’s still building up fitness after the World Cup apparently.  Has still scored in 2 of his last 3 games though.  Underlying stats are ok at best but only shooting and not creating chances.  Fixtures are good.

Man Utd (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Burnley (A)
Swansea (H)
Sunderland (A)
West Ham (H)

Dzeko

If you can manage frustration well then Dzeko could be an option for you.  Even putting aside potential gametime rotation with Jovetic back he’s a streaky scorer.  He hadn’t returned in 4 games (2 as sub )before scoring 2 against Hull sums up the roller coaster ride.   Always had good shooting stats but doesn’t really create chances.  Fixtures are ok

Aston Villa (A)
Spurs (H)
West Ham (A)
Man Utd (H)
QPR (A)
Swansea (H)

Adebayor

A better game against Arsenal after his awful performance against WBA but still 2 games without returning.  Underlying stats are okish.  Next 2 fixtures are tricky as well.  You’re gambling on him finding his end of season form last season

Southampton (H)
Man City (A)
Newcastle (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Stoke (H)
Hull (A)

Sturridge

May just be a bench option this week after coming back from injury.  Rodgers has not ruled him out playing though.  Not going with the England squad which suggests that he may not start.  With good fixtures he’s a natural replacement for Rooney but needs a  positive news conference today from Rodgers

West Brom (H)
QPR (A)
Hull (H)
Newcastle (A)
Chelsea (H)
Crystal Palace (A)

RVP

Anyone who thought that LVG would suddenly take RVP back to his Arsenal form has been very disappointed.  Has scored in his last 2 games after blanking in his first 3.  However very little underlying stats to give you hope that this will improve significantly and the fixtures also don’t help.  A leap of faith on past glorys and that his 2 goals will kick start his form.

Everton (H)
West Brom (A)
Chelsea (H)
Man City (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Arsenal (A)
