Sterling

Only on the bench for the Villa game and only had a limited effect in the 30 minutes or so involved.  Playing in the position behind a pair of strikers or in the front 3.  However it’s a different world now with Sturridge injured and Suarez sold and Liverpool have looked nothing like the team of last year apart from the Spurs game.  However very high ownership and good fixtures make him a risky person not to own

Next 6 fixtures:

West Ham (A)
Everton (H)
West Brom (H)
QPR (A)
Hull (H)
Newcastle (A)

Ramsey

A good game against City was rewarded with an assist.  Has started where he left off with returns in 3 of the 4 games so far.  Interestingly the top 10 managers have reduced their holding and now only 5 have him.  A couple of tough fixtures after the Villa away game.  Again very high ownership makes him dangerous not to own although the fixtures provide some comfort if you don’t

Aston Villa (A)
Spurs (H)
Chelsea (A)
Hull (H)
Sunderland (A)
Burnley (H)

Siggy

The Chelsea game was a continuation of Siggy somehow becoming a creative CAM rather than a shooting one and interestingly he’s not even in the top 15 of shots in the box midfielders.  Against Chelsea he didn’t even have a shot.  However the ownership agains and the good fixtures makes him a risk not to own

Southampton (H)
Sunderland (A)
Newcastle (H)
Stoke (A)
Leicester (H)
Everton (A)

Fabregas

The only midfielder with 100% return rate although although the returns have been all assists.  Leads the creating chances stat but doesn’t register in the top 15 shots in the box stat.  Silva has survived being a mainly assist based player but he plays further forward so it will be interesting to see how Fabregas progresses.  However 45% ownership and the Chelsea attacking juggernaut isn’t really the ingredients for leaving him out.  However while he isn’t scoring it certainly helps the decsiion as does the tricky fixtures.  As I’m writing this he’s scored in the Champions League.  Has alot of set piece responsibility

Man City (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Arsenal (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (A)
QPR (H)

Sanchez

After looking like he would be in the shade of Ramsey and struggling as a make shift striker he’s suddenly come to life and it’s now 2 goals and an assist and returns in 3 of the 4 games.  A player of immense talent and quality who plays very high up the pitch.  The 2 fixtures after the Villa game are the main negative.  Has shown very good underlying shooting and creating chances stats.

Aston Villa (A)
Spurs (H)
Chelsea (A)
Hull (H)
Sunderland (A)
Burnley (H)

Di Maria

History shows him as an assist based player although he did score with a free kick which you could put down to luck.  Playing from the deeper midfield position he’s relying on running with the ball to get forward from mainly wide positions and then crossing.  Mixed fixtures with 3 tricky ones.  Has some set piece responsibility

Leicester (A)
West Ham (H)
Everton (H)
West Brom (A)
Chelsea (H)
Man City (A)

Chadli

Easy to ignore after last season which was a little underwhelming.  However started with a bang with 3 goals and returning in 2 out of 3 games.  The underlying shooting stats are excellent and show that so far it’s no fluke.

West Brom (H)
Arsenal (A)
Southampton (H)
Man City (A)
Newcastle (H)
Aston Villa (A)

Tadic

This is about one thing,  fixtures.  Not really shown what he can do with 2 assist in his first 4 games.  It was certainly a quiet performance against Newcastle despite the score which is very worrying.  However, apart from new boy Mane he looks the best midfield hope for Southampton’s excellent fixtures

Swansea (A)
QPR (H)
Spurs (A)
Sunderland (H)
Stoke (H)
Hull (A)

Gerrard

The loss of Suarez and the injury to Sturridge will make it more difficult to get pens but the fixtures couldn’t be better to generate goals.  There’s been some stuttering performances so it is a leap of faith.  Also has the majority of set pieces

West Ham (A)
Everton (H)
West Brom (H)
QPR (A)
Hull (H)
Newcastle (A)

Eriksen

Has good set piece responsibility and gets into forward positions centrally even when stationed on the flank.  Has yet to show the form that he finished the season last year with.  However probably only Sanchez and Hazard have better underlying stats so the potential is there for it to happen

West Brom (H)
Arsenal (A)
Southampton (H)
Man City (A)
Newcastle (H)
Aston Villa (A)

Hazard

Played so well against Swansea it’s incredible to think that he didn’t return a goal or assist.  Other days he could have easily got a 10 point haul.  Certainly has been producing the chances and the shots so there’s every reason to be positive in this excellebt Chelsea attacking team.  Fixtures aren’t easy

Man City (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Arsenal (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (A)
QPR (H)
