fantasy premier league best midfielders – DGW31 “ones to watch”

Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s our fantasy premier league best midfielders article “ones to watch” for DGW31.  The players are ranked although there’s a table of stats, some narrative on prospects and the next 6 fixtures to help you make your own assessment.  Looking forward there’s a DGW34 for Chelsea and Leicester and a DGW27 for Arsenal and Sunderland but the article doesn’t take into account any further postponements to GW34/37 which may happen

fantasy premier league best midfielders – DGW31 “ones to watch”

Here’s the table of stats with a key underneath if you haven’t seen it before.  The players as normal have been ranked on their returns, consistency, form and upcoming fixtures. QPR and Aston Villa have a DGW31.  Chelsea and Leicester have a DGW34 but no blank GW33.  Arsenal and Sunderland have a DGW37.  Liverpool have a FA Cup replay which could result in a blank in GW33 and a DGW34/37 if Liverpool win for them and Hull.  I don’t specifically adjust the players ranking for a DGW but include the extra fixture in the fixt ease calculation.

Silva

A goal in the hammering of 10 man WBA makes it 4 goals and 2assists for the player bang in form at the moment.  The only negatives are that he has scored 11 compared to his best ever of 7 in previous seasons and whether that is sustainable.  Certainly his shots to goal average is way above the norm which is a similar point.  Is he deadly or over perfroming is the question.  Very high ownership among the active and leading managers and good fixtures to come.  Neutral on blank GW33 and DGW34/37

Next 6 gameweeks:

Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (A)
West Ham (H)
Aston Villa (H)
Spurs (A)
QPR (H)

Hazard

Added consistency to his big scoring ability including the ability to score home and away.  Has pens and a DGW34 without a blank in GW33. That and his high ownership among the active and leading managers makes him an essential purchase.

Stoke (H)
QPR (A)
GW33 Man Utd (H)
DGW34 Arsenal (A)
DGW34 Leicester (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Liverpool (H)

Mane

Playing in a very attacking central position Mane has become the Saints attacking player of choice.  For his price he’s got good stats on form consistency and season returns.  Add these to the fixtures and you’ve got a good combination.  Neutral on blank GW33 and DGW34.

Everton (A)
Hull (H)
Stoke (A)
Spurs (H)
Sunderland (A)
Leicester (A)

Siggy

Has good central attacking position and dominates set pieces for Swansea.  Add that to good fixtures coming and you’ve got the reason for his ranking.  What you haven’t got though is form with a meagre 1 goal in his last 7.  You’ve also not got any great shooting stats either although he does create chances.  Neutral for blank GW33 and DGW34/37

Hull (H)
Everton (H)
Leicester (A)
Newcastle (A)
Stoke (H)
Arsenal (A)

Sanchez

Speaking of lack of form.  Again it’s 1 goal and no assists in the last 7.  You could argue that he’s been unlucky given his shooting stats have still continued to be good but he’s definitely moved wider since Ozil has been back.  That with a blank GW33 plus words from Wenger that he needs a rest are the reasons to be negative.  The positives are his undoubted class and his early season form which showed what a great player he is.  Blank GW33 and a DGW37

Liverpool (H)
Burnley (A)
– Gameweek 33 –
Chelsea (H)
Hull (A)
Swansea (H)

Chadli

Chadli has a good record over the season even if his no goals or assists in his last 3 isn’t impressive.  He plays in an advanced position and has good shooting stats.  There is a question also whether he can hold his place in the team as he does have a history this season of being in and out of the side.  Good short term fixtures.  Neutral on blank GW33 and DGW34/37

Burnley (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Newcastle (A)
Southampton (A)
Man City (H)
Stoke (A)

Sterling

A very tricky one this.  With Sturridge being out for a month Sterling could return to playing striker which makes him a decent punt.  However if he were to continue as a wing back then he’s been very ineffective.  Liverpool have a postponed FA Cup game which if they win would give them a blank GW33 and a DGW34/37

Arsenal (A)
Newcastle (H)
Hull (A)
West Brom (A)
QPR (H)
Chelsea (A)

Ozil

Been in great form since coming back with 2 goals and 5 assists in 7 games although he has blanked in the last 2.  Does play very centrally and in an advanced position.  Doesn’t really seem to have much in the way of shooting stats but does have good representation at set pieces.  Blank in GW33 and a DGW37

Liverpool (H)
Burnley (A)
– Gameweek 33 –
Chelsea (H)
Hull (A)
Swansea (H)

Eriksen

Has good set piece representation and gets into the box and can score big but is a very inconsistent returner.  The FPL version of feast and famine.  Good short term fixtures makes him a hard player to sell now.  Neutral on blank GW33 and DGW34/37

Burnley (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Newcastle (A)
Southampton (A)
Man City (H)
Stoke (A)

Downing

Good early season form and returns but the last 3 have been blanks and it’s 1 assist in the last 8.  This is all about good fixtures to come. Neutral on blank GW33 and DGW34/37

Leicester (A)
Stoke (H)
Man City (A)
QPR (A)
Burnley (H)
Aston Villa (A)
