Here’s our fantasy premier league best midfielders gameweek 26 article where we outline the best midfielders for the gameweek and beyond. There’s a table of stats with a key underneath which gives enough information to help you make a choice over which midfielder you may want to transfer although I have notionally ranked them. It’s important though to read the narrative with the next 6 fixtures coming up as this is where I highlight their prospects and cautionary factors.
fantasy premier league best midfielders gameweek 26 “ones to watch”
Just to let you know that I haven’t adjusted the rankings for the blank GW27 but not the mass blank potential of GW30 or any potential DGW although that is probably further ahead at GW34. I think until things are more certain it’s a case of looking at the stats and making that adjustment. I have highlighted which players are involved in those teams.
At the moment Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle and Man City have no game in GW27 and that will be postponed to a DGW probably GW34 or GW37. GW30 clashes with the FA Cup quarter final and there will be mass postponments again probably to GW34 or GW37. The only guaranteed games in GW30 are Leicester v Newcastle and Stoke v Southampton. It will be clearer after the FA Cup on the weekend of the 20th Feb. To make it even more complicated GW35 will host the FA Cup semis seeing more blanks. Here’s my original article explaining it all

So Alli Antonio and Mahrez in 4 categories. Ozil and in 3 categories. Payet, Firmino and Eriksen in 2. Siggy, Arnautovic, Willian and Lingard are in 1
Mahrez
One of the few guaranteed players in GW30 at the moment. Also has the fitness benefits of no additional competitions. Been one of the season sensations although porior to the City game it was 7 games without a goal. Strong in all categories except recent returns.
Arsenal (A)
Norwich (H)
West Brom (H)
Watford (A)
Newcastle (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Antonio
A great attacking midfielder who suits West Ham’s counter attacking style and constantly gets himself into attacking positions in the penalty box. Lanzini coming back could cause some gametime problems although it’s hard to see him being replaced on current form. Norwich away is a good time to buy though if you feel confident on the blank weeks
Norwich (A)
Sunderland (H)
Spurs (H)
Everton (A)
Watford (H)
Chelsea (A)
Alli
Was a sub against Watford and made an immediate impact with an assist for the Trippier goal. Should have rid himself of any dizziness issues and fit to start in GW26. Great value for a CAM in a title challenging team. Very strong recent underlying stats
Man City (A)
Swansea (H)
West Ham (A)
Arsenal (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Ozil
Mr Consistency just keeps on returning from the CAM position. Surprisingly high 10% for an assist based player.
Leicester (H)
Man Utd (A)
Swansea (H)
Spurs (A)
West Brom (H)
Everton (A)
Firmino
The Liverpool player has a blank in GW27 which will eventually end up as part of a DGW. Playing as a striker it’s 3 goals and 2 assists in the last 3 games so he’s one of the form midfielders at the moment.. Coutino returning and Sturridge’s possible fitness saga ending could dilute his position. Villa up next is a big attraction
Aston Villa (A)
– Gameweek 27 –
Man City (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Chelsea (H)
Southampton (A)
Eriksen
The Spurs AM is another player in great form. Although a little inconsistent for the price. Has alot of set piece responsibility
Man City (A)
Swansea (H)
West Ham (A)
Arsenal (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Payet
The West Ham attacking midfielder has been very consistent and is the teams main set piece threat. Doesn’t have any shooting stats of note and is an assist based player which can be an issue without a top striker in the team. Has gone off the boil with only 1 returning game in his last 7 starts. Norwich and Sunderland next is a big attraction
Norwich (A)
Sunderland (H)
Spurs (H)
Everton (A)
Watford (H)
Chelsea (A)
Arnautovic
The Stoke LAM hasn’t been the most consistent returner and is basically a fixture and set piece play
Bournemouth (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Newcastle (H)
Chelsea (A)
Southampton (H)
Watford (A)
Sanchez
The Arsenal AM just hasn’t been able to put great shooting stats and undooubted world class talent in to goals at all so far this season. In theory he should explode into form at some stage as he did earlier in the season. It’s just whether this is 1 or 2 games away or 10
Leicester (H)
Man Utd (A)
Swansea (H)
Spurs (A)
West Brom (H)
Everton (A)
