Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s our fantasy premier league best midfielders GW10 article where we outline the best midfielders.  There’s a table of stats with a key underneath which gives enough information to help you make a choice over which midfileder you may want to transfer in.    It’s important though to read the narrative with the next 6 fixtures coming up as this is where I highlight there prospects and cautionary factors.

So Walcott, Mahrez and De Bruyne is in 3 of the tables.  Wijnaldum and Sanchez with 2.

Sanchez

The world class Arsenal midfielder has finally shown his form with 6 goals in the last 3 games.  Great underlying stats and showing hes a proven FPL player after last season’s great debut at an FPL point every 14.2 minutes.  Probably the only drawback is that he hasn’t shown consistency of returns,  it’s about big returns in patches.

Everton (H)
Swansea (A)
Spurs (H)
West Brom (A)
Norwich (A)
Sunderland (H)

De Bruyne

What a start  to his premier league career has the former Wolfsburg assist king made at Man City.  Probably the only drawbacks are a couple of tricky fixtures and the underlying stats which show great creating chances but little in the way of shooting stats.  Has shown an ability to score from outside the box though and his historic scoring record isn’t that bad.  Also the post Aguero injury formation has seen him out on the left rather than centrally as expected.

Man Utd (A)
Norwich (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Liverpool (H)
Southampton (H)
Stoke (A)

Mahrez

It’s almost impossible to believe that the same Leicester midfielder who got 1 return in his last 10 games last season.  This season he has started with 5 10+ FPL point hauls in his first 8 games.  It’s no fluke either as the underlying stats are excellent.  The drawbacks are the tinkermans dropping him to the bench in the last 2 games.  However such was his impact when coming on to rescue a point with Jamie Vardy at Southampton that it’s hard to believe he wont start in GW10.  Mixed fixtures especially if you have a Vardy double up are the other drawback

Crystal Palace (H)
West Brom (A)
Watford (H)
Newcastle (A)
Man Utd (H)
Swansea (A)

Walcott

A consistent and proven FPL returner who’s playing up front for Arsenal which is a team with a number of creative midfielders behind him.  Whats the drawback?  Unfortunately it’s the lone striker job share with Giroud that not only makes it difficult to predict when he will play but makes it unlikely he will play the full 90 minutes as well.  He’s started the last 6 which is good news though although in only 1 of those has he got past 80 minutes.  Also Giroud has been fantastic off the bench which makes him more of a threat

Everton (H)
Swansea (A)
Spurs (H)
West Brom (A)
Norwich (A)
Sunderland (H)

Sterling

A hat trick against Bournemouth for the Man City midfielder playing as a forward paired with Bony followed 3 blanks prior to that.  That forward position will probably be only until Aguero returns in a few weeks.  Reasonable underlying shooting stats and the game against Bournemouth may have shown that his long standing inability to put the ball in the net is potentially on the turn.

Man Utd (A)
Norwich (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Liverpool (H)
Southampton (H)
Stoke (A)

Mane

The Southampton attacking midfielder blanked in the first 3 games but since then it’s been an incredible 2 games and 5 assists although the blank against Leicester was a big disappointment for many FPL managers.  Very good shooting stats show his form has been no fluke either.  4 Great fixtures to come are a big attraction.

Liverpool (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Sunderland (A)
Stoke (H)
Man City (A)
Aston Villa (H)

Wijnaldum

After 1 goal in his first 6 games the Newcastle attacking midfielder was looking a dissapointing addition to FPL.  However a goal and an assist then pointed the way to the 4 goal haul over Norwich.  No real underlying stats to back it up but 14 goals and 4 assists in 33 games in the Dutch League shows he has the potential to do it.  If you’re going to pick him then the following fixtures are the time to do it

Sunderland (A)
Stoke (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Leicester (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Liverpool (H)

Ozil

Playing as a CAM for Arsenal has got to be the path to FPL points you would think.  However the Arsenal midfielder had a disappointing season last season post the world cup.  However this season has started in a consistent good returning manner culminating in a goal and 4 assists in his last 3 games.  Great underlying creating chances stats but little in the way of shooting stats is the only negative.

Everton (H)
Swansea (A)
Spurs (H)
West Brom (A)
Norwich (A)
Sunderland (H)

Payet

Been very consistent returner since he started in the premier league as the central attacking hub of the West Ham team.  Although he was shunted to the left flank in GW9.  Good creating chances stats but 5 goals (including 2 rebounds) for little in the way of shooting stats does hint at over performance.  Also tricky fixtures coming up make him a lower than you would expect considering the returns to date.  Is well owned by the top 10k FPL managers as well as the top 10 managers I follow which makes him rank affecting if he can continue though

Chelsea (H)
Watford (A)
Everton (H)
Spurs (A)
West Brom (H)
Man Utd (A)
