Here’s the table of stats with a key underneath if you haven’t seen it before.  The ranking after looking at the stats in detail has seen some interesting chances from my imaginary wildcard article

Hazard

Has been brilliant in recent weeks and his virtual single handed carrying of the fight against Spurs continued that.  Last year he had everything except consistency.  Now he even has that with a 60% rating.  Buried the perception that he can’t score away and has a an explosiveness especially at home which makes him an ideal captain option.  Great underlying stats and also has pens.  Fixtures could be worse.

Next 6 fixtures:

Newcastle (H)
Swansea (A)
Man City (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Everton (H)
Burnley (H)

Sanchez

Form has eluded him a little recently with 3 of the last 4 games being blanks.  However that hasn’t affected excellent underlying stats which signpost this as a temporary blip rather than a major issue.  Like Hazard has an explosiveness and consistency plus underlying stats which makes him an essential pick for me. Fixtures are a little mixed

Stoke (H)
Man City (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Spurs (A)
Leicester (H)
Crystal Palace (A)

Chadli

It’s a reflection of how good Harry Kane was against Chelsea that Chadli’s stunning performance was left in the shade somewhat.  It says alot that 2 assists and a goal didn’t do his performance justice.  Only Sanchez has better shooting stats and his ability to get into an advanced position has seen 7 goals in 15 starts.  Has also been consistent as well.  Has had some problems getting into the team recently but his 4 games since getting back into the team have seen returns in 3 of the 4.   Rotation with the number of players and the Europa League is potentially a bit of an issue.  Also do you want Kane and Chadli in your team given some of the teams inconsistent performances?  Next 3 games are good fixtures

Crystal Palace (A)
Sunderland (H)
West Brom (A)
Arsenal (H)
Liverpool (A)
West Ham (H)

Di Maria

There’s no doubting the guys class and quality however it’s not that quite simple with Di Maria.  He’s still an injury doubt and there is positional risk with him.  With Rooney dropped into midfield do you also have another attacking player in the midfield to accomodate RVP, Falcao, Mata, Rooney and Di Maria.  If you play 5 at the back then you’ve got no defensive midfielder and while you may not be his biggest fan, Carrick at least is an essential component.  There’s also the question of whether Di Maria will be introduced slowly from the bench.  So while you’ve got the quailty, good share of set pieces, overall good returns so far, consistency and excellent fixtures coming up there’s the negatives of fitness, positional uncertainty, gametime risk and recent dip in returns to take with that.

Southampton (H)
QPR (A)
Leicester (H)
West Ham (A)
Burnley (H)
Swansea (A)

Silva

Has been in great form recently with 4 goals and an assist in his last 4 games and even the blank against Sunderland was unlucky given the chances he created for others.  Doesn’t historically have a great scoring record and some difficult fixtures coming up.  However City can score agaisnt anyone and he is very dangerous if he plays centrally behind the striker which is his current position.  Will be interesting to see how Dzeko and Aguero change things on there return

Everton (A)
Arsenal (H)
Chelsea (A)
Hull (H)
Stoke (A)
Newcastle (H)

Fabregas

Mr consistency keeps things ticking over with 2 assists in his 2 games.  Has virtually all the set pieces except direct free kicks.  However lack of shooting and mainly deeper position has meant that goals have not followed and it’s only 2 in 19 games so far this season.  Difficult to have him in your team unless you want to ditch Hazard or Costa or go for all 3.

Newcastle (H)
Swansea (A)
Man City (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Everton (H)
Burnley (H)

Sterling

Fixtures and his striker position are the 2 big attractions for Sterling.  Unfortunately he seems to have an attack of the Welbecks and seems unable to put the ball into the net despite having a reasonable level of chances to come his way.

Sunderland (A)
Aston Villa (A)
West Ham (H)
Everton (A)
Spurs (H)
Southampton (A)

Siggy

A tricky one this,  The top 1 FPL managers have just started to sell him and the fixtures are stiffening plus his main beneficiary of assists in Bony is off to the ACON.  Has no underlying creating chances or shooting stats and relies on set pieces and his CAM positioning.

West Ham (H)
Chelsea (H)
Southampton (A)
Sunderland (H)
West Brom (A)
Man Utd (H)

Tadic

Got his first goal since gameweek 8 against Arsenal in GW20.  That makes it a total of 2 so far this season for what is basically an assist and set piece based player.  After the Man Utd game at the weekend there finally becomes some light at the end of the fixture tunnel

Man Utd (A)
Newcastle (A)
Swansea (H)
QPR (A)
West Ham (H)
Liverpool (H)

Mata

Another player whose recent form has fallen and it’s only 1 assist in his last 4.  Little underlying stats either through creating chances or shooting.  Also hasn’t had the consistency of returns that you would want for the price.  However you have a player in a CAM position with good fixtures and Rooney, Falcao and RVP as potential assist targets.

Southampton (H)
QPR (A)
Leicester (H)
West Ham (A)
Burnley (H)
Swansea (A)
