fantasy premier league best players – my imaginary wildcard GW36

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s my fantasy premier league imaginary wildcard for GW36. There won’t be many of you who still have one but it gives you a flavour of the best players to buy for the last few games.  I haven’t put much detail in it but you can get all that through my “ones to watch” articles

Here’s the imaginary wildcard team.  In case you’re wondering I haven’t included YYT.  Although fit he may start from the bench or have limited minutes.  One for next week though.

Schwarzer

£4.5m for a defender/GK from the best defence in the league sounds good to me.  It’s hard to imagine that even if Mourinho plays a weakened team that he will rest a GK who’s only played 1 premier league game this year.

Liverpool (A)
Norwich (H)
Cardiff City (A)

De Gea

Moyes made it difficult enough to pick a United defender that was expected to start.  However a new manager gives it another dimension of uncertainty so we’ve gone for the safe pick of GK De Gea.  Giggs will be wanting to win all games so I can’t see him playing Lindegaard for the sake of it.

Norwich (H)
Sunderland (H)  DGW37
Hull City (H)  DGW37
Southampton (A)

Zabaleta

A City defender is essential through the DGW and the rest of the season.  There’s arguments for either Demichelis Kompany and Zabaleta.  I’ve gone narrowly for Zabaleta due to his attacking instincts

Crystal Palace (A)
Everton (A)  DGW37
Aston Villa (H)  DGW37
West Ham (H)

Dann

With 4 clean sheets in their last 5 fixtures or not, theyre worth having even if it’s just for the last game at Fulham

Man City (H)
Liverpool (H)
Fulham (A)

Koscielny

With Chelsea the best home defence in the league.  The next 2 home games couldn’t be much better defensively.  Koscielny is the bonus magnet and good value in the defence

Newcastle (H)
West Brom (H)
Norwich (A)

Alonso

Purely for DGW37 representation despite some mixed defensive form, although they have got 2 clean sheets in their last 5

Cardiff City (H)
Man Utd (A)  DGW37
West Brom (H)  DGW37
Swansea (H)

Wilson

The 5th best home defence over the season and 3 clean sheets in the last 5.  Wilson is the best value in the defence

Tottenham (H)
Fulham (H)
West Brom (A)

Salah

Not eligible for the Champions league and will give you some Chelsea representation for the games against Norwich and Cardiff to finish the season.  Will have some gametime risk but excellent value.

Liverpool (A)
Norwich (H)
Cardiff City (A)

Nasri

Will now be the creative force in the Man City midfield as we go into DGW37 with Silva out.  Also far less likely to be subbed early.  Could be in better form but has good fixtures and DGW37

Crystal Palace (A)
Everton (A)  DGW37
Aston Villa (H)  DGW37
West Ham (H)

Mata

Always going to be some uncertainty over position with a new manager especially with 3 numbers 10’s in the club in Mata, Kagawa and Rooney but he’s hard to ignore as the creative force in the midfield with 3 home games against lower placed teams in the league.  Being at home has been a disadvantage of course but a reinvigorated team and a more attacking philosophy could help goals.  Should have a share of set pieces.

Norwich (H)
Sunderland (H)  DGW37
Hull City (H)  DGW37
Southampton (A)

Ramsey

16 points in his first start.  His ability to find space against crowded defences and his energy on the counter makes him an attacking weapon against any side.  Newcastle have conceded 9 goals in their last 3 games although they have got most of their injured defenders back.

Newcastle (H)
West Brom (H)
Norwich (A)

Eriksen

The form player in fantasy premier league with 55 points in his last 5 games.  Has found his scoring form plus has fantastic ability with set pieces.

Stoke City (A)
West Ham (A)
Aston Villa (H)

Rooney

Like Mata has some positional risk and could play behind Welbeck or Hernandez rather than up top where he’s at his most deadly.  However has excellent fixtures and also a share of set pieces and penalties makes him difficult to ignore.

Norwich (H)
Sunderland (H)  DGW37
Hull City (H)  DGW37
Southampton (A)

Aguero

The only player with better returns per minute than Suarez.  An essential player with DGW37  coming up even with the reduced minutes he’s playing at the moment.  A must have.

Crystal Palace (A)
Everton (A)  DGW37
Aston Villa (H)  DGW37
West Ham (H)

Suarez

Player of the year and a must have.  An incredible record of scoring or assisting in 87% of his games.

Chelsea (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Newcastle (H)
