Fantasy premier league best strikers – gameweek 6

Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s my GW6 best  forwards “ones to watch” article for strikers.  No time to do budget seperately so I’ve put all up for consideration.  There’s a table of stats to help you make your choice.  There’s also the next 6 fixture plus some commentary on their prospects

With the midfield full of high ownership players the striker is becoming a point of differentiation. There’s a load of low ownership players to make a difference.

Costa

Had a slight hiccup on his unreal form so far this season with the tough game against Kompany and Mangala last week.  Amazingly we seem to be free of injury drama this week.  If you aren’t one of the 61% of owners then home to Villa is definitely the time to buy.  Great underlying shooting and even creating chances stats which he isn’t known for.

Next 6 fixtures:

Aston Villa (H)
Arsenal (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (A)
QPR (H)
Liverpool (A)

Rooney

Alot of transfers out this week after only making an assist against Leicester and moving back behind the 2 strikers.  Alot of the time he drifted seemingly unecessarily deep in an effort to get involved as things unravelled.  Still he has returned well in the past in this position so I’ve kept the faith for 1 more week but this will be a pivotal gameweek.  Home to West Ham next and 3 good fixtures next help the decision to hold.

West Ham (H)
Everton (H)
West Brom (A)
Chelsea (H)
Man City (A)
Crystal Palace (H)

Aguero

Seems likely to play and away to Hull doesn’t seem the tricky fixture it was last year.  A gametime risk though with the Champions League and a troubled injury history but when fit and playing he is possibly the best striker in the league

Hull (A)
Aston Villa (A)
Spurs (H)
West Ham (A)
Man Utd (H)
QPR (A)

Pelle

Great start with 3 goals and an assist in his first 5 plus returned in his last 3.  Underlying shooting and creating chances stats are also very good.  The fixtures coming up couldn’t be better and with QPR next this is the time to buy if you’re going to.

QPR (H)
Spurs (A)
Sunderland (H)
Stoke (H)
Hull (A)
Leicester (H)

Ulloa

The most transferred in player by some distance this week.  Not surprising after 5 goals in his first 5 games and an 80% return rate.  It’s even hard to say that he’s massively overperformed the underlying stats as they aren’t at Costa’s level but they’re still good.  When you consider who the first 5 games were against it;s a remnarkable start.  Now the fixtures take a very good turn for the better so he’s in a great position to kick on.  To put a bit of perspective on things though last season in the Championship he scored 14 goals in 33 games.  Not too shabby but not what you’d expect from a consistent premier league scorer

Crystal Palace (A)
Burnley (H)
Newcastle (A)
Swansea (A)
West Brom (H)
Southampton (A)

Welbeck

A tap in and an excellent assist should help Welbeck get his confidence back.  The next 2 fixtures are tricky though although neither defence are in great form

Spurs (H)
Chelsea (A)
Hull (H)
Sunderland (A)
Burnley (H)
Swansea (A)

Adebayor

Was abysmal against WBA and may even be worried about his place after it.  Apart from that it’s a goal and 2 assists which could be better even if nothing spectacular.  Will have extra motivation away to Arsenal in the next game.  Next 3 games overall could be alot better.

Arsenal (A)
Southampton (H)
Man City (A)
Newcastle (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Stoke (H)

Lukaku

2 goals in the last 2 games follwed an assist in the first 3.  Next is Liverpool and Man Utd away which are tricky games but neither defence has been that good.  His underlying shooting stats have been ok if not spectacular but he hasn’t been creating chances.

Liverpool (A)
Man Utd (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Burnley (A)
Swansea (H)
Sunderland (A)

Falcao

Did have spme spells in the game against Leicester when he looked the striker he is.  2 good fixtures though with the Everton defence not performing should give him a chance to shine.  Too early to assess any underlying shooting stats.

West Ham (H)
Everton (H)
West Brom (A)
Chelsea (H)
Man City (A)
Crystal Palace (H)

Bony

It’s hard to believe that after his finish last year that we would have seen him goalless after 5 games.  The good news is that the at least the 2 home games next gives him a good opportunity to set that right.  If you’re holding though the additional good news is that his shooting and creating chances stats are excellent and you’ve got to think things will come right

Sunderland (A)
Newcastle (H)
Stoke (A)
Leicester (H)
Everton (A)
Arsenal (H)
