Newcastle

It was a very underwhelming performance against Huddersfield from Newcastle and that means there is little faith in their players.  Ritchie is left as the only possibility as at least he has an advanced position and some set piece responsibility.  However he has yet to show much and this is mainly on his contribution in their promotion last season.  Good fixtures and if you’re ever going to gamble it’s now.  Joselu looked promising coming on as a forward but needs to establish gametime security to be considered

West Ham (H)
Swansea (A)
Stoke (H)
Brighton (A)
Liverpool (H)
Southampton (A)

Southampton

Some good fixtures to come.  Both Tadic and Redmond feature in our key underlying stats article

Tadic for shots on target and Redmond for key passes.  However producing underlying stats has never been the issue producing returns has.  At least they both produced a goal and assist respectively against West Ham.

I’ve discounted Gabbiadini due to concern over Austin eating into his minutes

Huddersfield (A)
Watford (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (H)
Stoke (A)
Newcastle (H)

West Ham

A trip to Newcastle and then a home game against newly promoted Huddersfield means this has to be the time to gamble on West Ham players if you’re ever going to.  Chicharito is a proven goal scorer in the premier league and has already proven himself again with 2 goals against Southampton.  He’s shown what a poacher he is by lining up in the top 10 shots in the 6 yard box category so far this season.

Antonio is the sort of goal scoring player midfield player who gets into the box regularly.  He produced an assist via a saved parried typical header inside the penalty area

Newcastle (A)
Huddersfield (H)
West Brom (A)
Spurs (H)
Swansea (H)
Burnley (A)

WBA

Jay Rodriguez despite blanking in the first 2 games has had a lively start producing some good shot stats.  The big negative around him though is that he is moved to the wing when another striker has been brought on.

Phillips has good set piece representation which is a big plus with WBA who are one of the best at capitalising on these situations.  It’s an ok start with 1 assist for the winner against Burnley in GW2.

Stoke (H)
Brighton (A)
West Ham (H)
Arsenal (A)
Watford (H)
Leicester (A)

Spurs

Now with some very good “home” games is the time to invest in Spurs assets.  Kane may have blanked in the first 2 gameweeks but he’s produced excellent shot stats, hit the post twice and had a goal disallowed.  Home to Burnley is a risky time to remove or not have him.

Eriksen and Alli are contrasting midfielders.  Alli is virtually a support striker relying on goals principally through getting into the box and counter attacks.  Eriksen is the creative force and set piece specialist.  Eriksen has started off better with 3 assists and 19 FPL points.  Alli less so with a single goal and 10 FPL points. It’s really a question of what type of midfielder you prefer

Burnley (H)
Everton (A)
Swansea (H)
West Ham (A)
Huddersfield (A)
Bournemouth (H)
