fantasy premier league blanks and double gameweeks – doing some prep now

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s our fantasy premier league blanks and double gameweeks article where I will be doing the planning for my team for the blanks  in GW27, GW30 and the likely mass double gameweek of DGW34.  I just want to make sure before my transfer tonight or tomorrow that I do it in the knowledge of what it means in the context of those games.  Hopefully you’ll find the info helpful for your own team

fantasy premier league blanks and double gameweeks – doing some prep now

The basics

GW27 already has the CAP 1 finalists Liverpool and Man City plus their opponents Everton and Newcastle missing from the draw.  I have 3, Aguero, Moreno and Lukaku. So they could stay on the bench

GW30 will be carnage and will see all the FA cup quarter finalists and their GW30 opponents postponed.  Likely to a mass DGW34

Before DGW34 the 2nd wildcard will be used to prepare for it.

If you need more info again here’s my original article (which wrongly thought there would be a DGW25) which was actually focused on the wildcard

The FA Cup 5th round and the GW30 effect

The FA Cup 5th round will be between GW26 and GW27.  With 3 rounds before GW27 and only 3 rounds after that I’m kind of thinking I can’t make a transfer now without thinking about it.

Here’s the 5th round detail from the BBC Website

So firstly if you have Leicester, Stoke, Southampton and Newcastle.  They will all play in GW30 no matter what

For me that means that as far as my team goes at the moment.  Mahrez, Wollscheid and Simpson are at least safe bets for GW30.  So 3 ok just 8 to fill in.

So looking at the rest of my team and the likelihood they will be there for GW30

Ozil and Mertesacker – Hard to see Arsenal losing to Hull so thats them probably out

Gomes – Hard to bank on Watford losing to Leeds so probably no GK

Surman and Lukaku – I’d go for Everton winning here which means no Lukaku but the 2 points of Surman are likely to be safe as Swansea their GW30 opponent is out

Walker, Alli and Kane – hard to see them losing to Palace.  So thats them 3 gone

Aguero – Man City could  lose to Chelsea but I wouldn’t bank on it

Payet and Moreno – 1 could make it as 1 will go out in the replay but it will depend on their GW30 oppoenents also being eliminated

So after that lot it seems like I’ll be lucky to have Surman and maybe 1 of Moreno and Payet if I’m lucky.

That means with my team as it is I could have 4 or maybe 5 players in GW30.  I do have 8 transfers before GW30 so should be able to put out a full team as it stands.  My feeling though is that I will try and go for Leicester, Southampton, Newcastle and Stoke players to feel safe.  If you’re willing to gamble then Swansea or Bournemouth.  If Liverpool lose the 4th round replay then you may want to gamble that City beat Chelsea to keep that tie alive in GW30

That means the safe pool is something like:

Leicester – Mahrez, Vardy, Schmeichel and Simpson

Southampton – Forster, Fonte/VVD

Newcastle (not in GW27) – Elliot, Wijnaldum

Stoke – Butland, Wollscheid, Arnautovic

GW27

As I said above the CAP 1 finalists Liverpool and Man City plus their GW27 opponents Everton and Newcastle already had their fixtures removed from GW27.

At the moment I have Moreno, Aguero and Lukaku who could just go on the bench.  My only issue with that is Walker and maybe Mertesacker are rotation risks which doesn’t really help the situation.

So what am I going to do?

Not sure?  Could put Forster in either for Gomes or McCarthy.  Maybe Vardy for Lukaku?  Maybe Elliot for McCarthy?

I have to use 1 transfer as I will lose 1 if I don’t as I have 1 banked.  I’ll sleep on it now.

Hope you found that helpful.  Hopefully I haen’t go any facts wrong but if I have then please tell me in the comments section
