FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE BUDGET MIDFIELDER PLAYER RANKINGS GW10

First it’s important to remember that each player is ranked as a transfer target for this week. So while we generally look at fixtures form and underlying stats a player who’s away to Man City is going to be ranked lower than someone home to Huddersfield for example. If possible a transfer should have a good fixture first up.

Firstly there’s a table of stats. Then there’s a bit of brief commentary on each player and their next 6 fixtures.

This is the 4th player rankings article. I’ve also written a defenders and GKs player rankings article, forward player rankings and an article for premium midfielders

STATS DEFINITIONS

Fixt Ease: The ease of the mentioned fixture range from an attacking perspective. See our GW10 fixture ease article

Mins per FPL Pt. The amount of minutes a player takes to earn an FPL point. The shorter and obviously lower the number is the better

ATGS – the bookies anytime goalscoring odds for GW10. I’ve used William Hill

xG and xA per 90 – the expected goals and assists per 90 minutes played from the better than excellent site understat.com. See our underlying stats summary for expected goal information on teams and players. See also Joseph Crilleys GW9 review with underlying stats part 1 and part 2

The schedule

Richarlison

3 goals and 4 assists in his 8 starts.  Would be so much better if he hadn’t inexplicably missed 2 great chances against Chelsea.

The last 7 all playing the full 90 minutes.  Plays in a very advanced LAM position.  Very good underlying stats.  For a player at his price to be in both my top 15 xG90 and xA90 is very impressive. Has also started to consistently produce good performances  in games you’d be looking for a goal or assist

4 pretty good fixtures before a couple of tough ones

Stoke (H)
Everton (A)
West Ham (H)
Newcastle (A)
Man Utd (H)
Spurs (H)

Choupo Moting

2 goals and 2 assists is an ok return for 8 starts at his price.    Except for the WBA game he’s produced underlying stats at a good level in the games you would be looking for a goal. He also played in an advanced midfield position or as a forward.

So good underlying stats, an advanced position and also good fixtures to come are the attraction

Watford (A)
Leicester (H)
Brighton (A)
Crystal Palace (A)
Liverpool (H)
Swansea (H)

Ramsey

2 goals and 3 assists in his 7 starts is a good return for the price.  What’s more he’s producing very good underlying stats on a pretty consistent basis.

Great fixture next.

The negatives though is that he does have a history of underperforming his goal threat stats and the next 2  fixtures after the Swansea game are difficult

Swansea (H)
Man City (A)
Spurs (H)
Burnley (A)
Huddersfield (H)
Man Utd (H)

Zaha

In the absence of Benteke who appears to be injured for 4-5 weeks more Zaha and Townsend have been the strike force for Palace.  Zaha’s only made 2 starts since coming back from injury and although was excellent in scoring in the Chelsea win he was disappointing in the loss to Newcastle.

West Ham (H)
Spurs (A)
Everton (H)
Stoke (H)
Brighton (A)
West Brom (A)

Gross

The Brighton midfielder has alot of positives.  He plays as a support striker practically and has primary set piece potential.  That has seen 2 goals and 4 assists in 9 games.  It’s fair to say though that his impressive returns have been bolstered by the 2 goals and an assist FPL 18 point haul over WBA.

His underlying stats are ok although he’s lucky he’s cheap.  His is an assister only and although his consistency in producing an assist threat has improved over the 9 games it’s been pretty patchy earlier on to say the least.  He is hampered by Brighton being a pretty negative counter attacking team.

Southampton (H)
Swansea (A)
Stoke (H)
Man Utd (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Liverpool (H)

Tadic

Where do you start with this guy.  Firstly this is about a few good fixtures on the horizon only.  The guy produces good underlying stats but has consistently had a problem delivering on them.  Only 1 goal in 9 starts and that was a penalty he did everything he could to miss

Brighton (A)
Burnley (H)
Liverpool (A)
Everton (H)
Man City (A)
Bournemouth (A)

Brady

The Burnley set piece man has faded with 4 blanks after a reasonably positive start.  In those 4 games he’s produced next to nothing in underlying stats which were pretty patchy and assist based only anyway.

This is purely a fixture play.

Newcastle (H)
Southampton (A)
Swansea (H)
Arsenal (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Leicester (A)

Ritchie

The Newcastle RAM has set piece representation as well as an advanced position.  A couple of good home fixtures but some tricky away ones coming up.  Good assist based underlying stats

Burnley (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Man Utd (A)
Watford (H)
West Brom (A)
Chelsea (A)
