fantasy premier league budget midfielders – Gameweek 2 “ones to watch”

Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s my GW2 midfielders at or under £6.0m “ones to watch” article. There’s a table of stats to help you make your choice and I’ve started to integrate this years numbers although obviously 1 games data does give fairly distorted results.  Fairly short selection at the moment but thos should improve

Ince

The Hull attacking midfielder played as a support striker for Hull  in GW1 against QPR and looked threatening despite Hull being under siege for long periods.  Only questions is how long it will last with Steve Bruce looking to buy Jordan Rhodes or another striker.

Next 6 fixtures:

Stoke (H)
Aston Villa (A)
West Ham (H)
Newcastle (A)
Man City (H)
Crystal Palace (H

Henderson

The most obvious example of a player who could be the new box to box midfielder to become a viable FPL asset.  Little evidence of it here despite his excellent assist for Sterlings goal.  Fixtures could be better as well.  Has the energy to full this role but you may want to observe the next 2 tricky fixtures before jumping in

Man City (A)
Spurs (A)
Aston Villa (H)
West Ham (A)
Everton (H)
West Brom (H)

McGeady

The main beneficiary of the Barkley long term injury had an excellent game against Leicester adopting a shoot on sight policy and regularly getting into the area.  Fixtures aren’t easy though which is the main drawback.  The next 2 games especially are as difficult as it gets

Arsenal (H)
Chelsea (H)
West Brom (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Liverpool (A)
Man Utd (A)

Mutch

Despite QPR laying siege to the Hull goal little of it was done by Jordan Mutch as he failed to show the ability to get into the box that he did last year.  Fixtures are mixed and you’re really owning him on the basis of returning to last years form and his current position as a CAM.  Leroy Fer’s acquisition will also be an interesting watchout on his position for the future though

Spurs (A)
Sunderland (H)
Man Utd (A)
Stoke (H)
Southampton (A)
West Ham (A)

James Ward Prowse

JWP is all about excellent set piece delivery and he  showed this against Liverpool.  Hasn’t seen this in returns but good fixtures mean he has the ability to rectify this.  Would rotate with a Leicester option.

West Brom (H)
West Ham (A)
Newcastle (H)
Swansea (A)
QPR (H)
Spurs (A)

Rodwell

Another player who has potential to be a box to box midfield option.  He’s been tasked with getting ahead of the lone striker and score goals.  There was little evidence of that though against WBA who in theory are opposition that should give you a chance.  Some reasonable fixtures though to take a punt on.  Would rotate with a Newcastle option

Man Utd (H)
QPR (A)
Spurs (H)
Burnley (A)
Swansea (H)
Stoke (H)

The £4.5m options

Jones and Marney of Burnley.  Marney looks to be the most attacking of the 2 with 3 goals and 7 assists in the 38 matches last season in the Championship

King of Leicester got an assist against Everton and looks a reasonable bet.

Wanyama and Cattermole also played but seem too YC happy to be options.

Bentaleb also played but has alot of competition for places
