Fantasy premier league – captain options gameweek 22

Fantasy Premier League

Ok here’s my fantasy premier league captain options for fantasy premier league gameweek 22. A brief article due to time pressures and lets face it we all know the outcome

Fantasy premier league – captain options gameweek 22

Background

Just as a general point for those coming to the site for the first time.   I did alot of research on where the 10 point plus fantasy premier league attacking scores came from and the vast majority came from the top 4 challenging teams playing the potentially relegation threatened teams.  Now that may sound like common sense and it is how I look at where the captain choices should come from.   The theory is simple, you get more shots against the poorer teams.  What was interesting is that there wasn’t much variance between the home fixture and the away fixture.  The opposition was key.  However at the moment Suarez is breaking all the rules and is a form option irrespective of the opposition.  Aguero can also score no matter what the opposition.

There are some good fixtures this week following this principle.  Here they are:
1.   Arsenal v Fulham
2.  Man City v Cardiff
3.  Liverpool v Villa
 Here are the options:
1. Ozil
2.  Negredo
3.  Suarez

Ozil

Back from injury and sure to start.  Will also have a big say in set pieces and will also have pens with Arteta injured.  Returned in 4/6 home games.  A little out of touch with no returns in 3.  Lets remember this is Fulham.  The team who lost 4-1 at home to Sunderland and let Adam Johnson score a hat trick.  They conceded 6 away to Hull.  Here’s the goals conceded  in the last 4 away games 6-4-3-4.  Hangeland looks like he will be abck which will help them to some degree but he doesn’t really have the mobility required to shut down the Arsenal passing.  Look for a massacre.
Definitely an option.

Negredo

A bit of a gametime risk as now 3 strikers fit.  Pellegrini has said he will leave it late before deciding whether Aguero will start. I think Negredo will start but he is vulnerable to a 60 minute type substitution.  He’s returned in every home game he’s started.  Cardiff have conceded 2 and 3 in their last 2 games away to Arsenal and Liverpool.  Although they performed admirably in both games lets face it they were under siege .  It will be interesting to see if OGS takes his attacking mentality into this game as City are lethal on the break.  Expect that and more.

Despite the gametime issues its definitely an option for me.

Suarez

Do I really need to go through the Suarez analysis?  Ok then  he’s returned in all of the 7 home games played and scored 14 goals and 5 assists.  The only top 4 challenging teams that Villa have played away have been Arsenal and Chelsea in the opening games of the season where they best Arsenal 3-1 and performed well in a 2-1 loss to Chelsea.  That was a different Villa than the relegation threatened team now.  Although thyve defended ok away from home and their counter attacking style suits it I don’t believe they have the tools to defend the better teams away from home.

Suarez is always an option in my mind and unquestionably so on his home patch

Options summary

Here’s my order of prefernce

1.  Suarez

2.  Negredo

3.  Ozil

William Hill Check

Here’s the players who pay less than £2 as an anytime goal scorer

1.  £1.36    Suarez

2. £1.40   Giroud

3.  £1.57  Negredo Aguero

4.  £1.73  Sturridge

So were not too far apart.  Ozil is £2.00 which is pretty good odds for an assist based player.

Giroud is obviously in my team and is capable of big hauls and is now showing some form.  Its just having gone 8 games and returned once in those games earlier in the season he’s not really armband material to me  Aguero I’ve discounted as he’s not certain to start as I said above.  Sturridge I just don’t see any point as surely you own Suarez?

Thats it hope you found it useful in deciding your fantasy premier league captain picks
