Fantasy premier league captain choice gameweek 10

Background

Looking firstly at the games that will most likely generate the most goals.

Here’s the best fixtures:

1.  Arsenal v Burnley

2.  Chelsea v QPR

For those game’s I’ve picked Sanchez and Diego Costa.  I’ve also picked Aguero as well due to form

Sanchez (Burnley H )

  • Will he start?

Should do.  Sarted the last 3 and with Anderlecht at home as the Champions league fixture it’s one of the easier games

  • How consistent is he generally  and at home.

Very Good: Overall he’s scored 5 goals and 2 assists and returned a goal or assist in 5/8 games (63%).  At home it’s even better having returned in 3/4 games.

  • How has he performed against low placed opposition home

Very good:  Against Palace he got an assist and against Hull, a goal and an assist

  • Whats his recent form like

OK:  Here’s his 4 home games.

CRY(H) 2-1   90 mins    0 goals   1 assist   5  points
MCI(H) 2-2   90 mins    1 goal     0 assist   6  points
TOT(H) 1-1   28 mins     blanked                  1   point
HUL(H) 2-2  90 mins    1 goal     1 assist   13  points

So consistent if not been a big scorer until the last game

  • Whats the opposition defence like

Pretty poor.  Here’s their away results so far:

SWA(A) 0-1
CRY(A) 0-0
WBA(A) 0-4
LEI(A) 2-2

They were absolutely hopeless against WBA.  Overall they’ve conceded 12 goals in their last 4 games which isn’t a good sign

  • Overall thoughts

Should start.  In good form and consistent.  The Burnley team look hopeless defensively

 Costa (QPR home)

  • Will he start?

“Available for selection” apparently.  Anything is possible in whats fast becoming the most boring will he wont he start saga I can ever remember

  • How consistent is he generally  and  at home?

Excellent:   Overall he’s scored 9 goals and 0 assists in 7 games and returned a goal or assist in 6/7 games (86%).  At home it’s even better having returned in 4/4 games.

  • How has he performed against low placed opposition at home

Excellent:  He’s scored against Leicester, a hat trick against Swansea and a goal against Villa

  • Whats his recent form like

Excellent:  Here’s his 4 home games

LEI(H) 2-0      79 minutes   1 goal   0 assists     6  points
SWA(H) 4-2    71 minutes   3 goals 0 assists   17 points
AVL(H) 3-0    80 minutes   1 goals  0 assists  6   points
ARS(H) 2-0    90 minutes    1 goal    0 assists   6  points

Couldn’t be any better

  • Whats the opposition defence like

Pretty hopeless  Here’s their last 4 away games:

TOT(A) 0-4
MUN(A) 0-4
SOU(A) 1-2
WHU(A) 0-2

  • Is he an option?

The only question is whether he starts.  If he doesn’t then it’s whether he ends up as a `1 pointer but there’s no history of that it seems to be all or nothing so far

 Aguero ( Man Utd Home)

Will he  start?

Impossible to believe he wont start in this game

How consistent is he  overall and at home?

Only ok:  Overall it’s 9 goals in 9 games and he’s returned in 6/9 games.  At home it’s 2/4 games

Whats his recent form like?

Ok: Here’s his 4 home games:

LIV(H) 3-1    23 minutes   1 goal 0 assists    6 points
STK(H) 0-1   90 minutes    blanked                 2 points
CHE(H) 1-1   90 minutes   blanked
TOT(H) 4-1   90 minutes   4 goals  0 assists  19 points

Has struggled in the 2 games that teams have parked the bus.  Man Utd won’t do that

Whats the opposition defence like?

Mixed;  Here’s the 4 away games

SUN(A) 1-1
BUR(A) 0-0
LEI(A) 3-5
WBA(A) 2-2

It’s no secret that defensively they haven’t been strong

Is he an option?

He will start.  Analysis with Aguero is fruitless.  He can score against anyone, any place, at any time.

Bookmaker check

Here’s the anytime goal scoring odds at under £2.00

£1.44 – Costa

£1.61 – Drogba

£1.67 – Welbeck, Sanchez

£1.73 – Solanke, Schurrle

£1.83 –  Hazard, Aguero

£1.91 – Sanogo, Dzeko

I’ve ruled out Drogba, Solanke, Schurrle, Sanogo and Dzeko  as all have gametime issues. Welbeck has been pretty unreliable but should get chances to score.  Hazard has been inconsistent but has big score potential even if he hasn’t shown it this year.

I’m sticking with Costa this week with Aguero as vice
