Here’s our short form captain choice where we look at the bookies view, other FPL advice sites polls, any of the top 10 managers I follow and the FFGeek view. I will try and do the long versions as much as I can but this week as a Friday lockout is impossible

The bookies view
Here’s the anytime goal scorer odds from 1 bookies:
£1.75 – Benteke
£1.91 – Harry Kane
£2.05 – Giroud
£2.15 – Rooney, Depay
£2.20 – Sanchez, Walcott
£2.25 – Gomis
The FPL advice sites view
The main advice site has Rooney and Benteke very close around the mid 20%’s. Kane is well back around 7%. Thats a fairly consistent message across the other advice sites. Some even have Aguero at similar levels to Kane which is surprising.
The top 10 managers view
I only have access to 2 of the managers teams prior to the deadline. 1 has Benteke as captain. The other at the moment has Aguero although it appears this may change.
The FFGeek view
My plan at the moment is the strategy which has really disappointed me about myself (if you read my recent navigating through the captain choices article). Thats taking out Aguero and bring in Benteke as the captain.
A captain option like Benteke, who has such large ownership and is going to be captained by a large percentage of people from the advice sites, who ultimately you hope you will be battling against when the FPL season matures, is not my idea of fun. Especially as I’ll be watching the game on TV. I also watched the Bournemouth game Live on TV last week and was pretty disappointed at how poor they were. Plus Eddie Howe has talked about them wanting to attack rather than defend which is not a great sign. The combination of all this just means I have to get him in to preserve a mass ranking fall. What it did do is make me think about the future likely captain choices and planning in far more detail. Hence the article I mentioned above.
This week though with a split captain choice is one of the times when your captain choice is a sword not a shield as your’e forced to pick between 2 equal choices. Whatever you do will potentially make a difference to your rank depending on how they score. Thats completely different to weeks when the choice is for one person only and the safest thing is to just captain him to avoid a major drop by going with anyone else. That may soon be the case with Aguero.
