Here’s our fantasy premier league captain choice GW32 article where we look at a number of ways of assessing the best captain pick for the gameweek. As usual we look at the fixtures, the bookies odds, the FPL advice site polls, any of the top 10 FPL managers we can find and the FFGeek choice.
FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE CAPTAIN CHOICE GW32
THE FIXTURES
Here’s the fixtures for GW32:
The bookies see 4 teams as favourites with the following win odds for £1 invested. It’s likely the fantasy premier league captain choice GW32 will come from one of those teams.
Man City (Hull h ) at £1. 18 – Aguero
Spurs (Watford h ) at £1.25 – Alli or Eriksen
Man Utd (Sunderland A) at £1.36 – Ibrahimovic
Chelsea (Bournemouth A) – at £1.53 – Hazard, Costa
THE BOOKIES ODDS
Here we look at one of the bookies anytime goal scoring odds. I’ve tried to only put players in who have some gametime security. It’s the return for £1 invested. Odds are as of Friday morning and remember they assume the player starts and don’t count assist potential.
£1.36 – Aguero
£ 1.72 – Ibrahimovic
£1.83 – Costa
£1.90 – Son HM
£2.00 – Sterling, De Bruyne
£2.10 – Walcott, Sanchez
£2.25 – Hazard, Eriksen
£2.40 – Dele Alli
THE FPL ADVICE SITE POLLS.
It’s worth noting here that the FFGeek poll asks who you are going to appoint as captain to reflect the reality of the spread of captain choices. Others ask who is the best captain. Others just say captain poll and leave the question up to you.
Firstly here’s the FFGeek poll:
Here’s the summary of the other main advice polls:
So Aguero the popular pick

USING VARIOUS MEASURES
This is the metrics table assessing different ways of judging the fantasy premier league captain choice GW32
Apologies, the short turnaround means that I have been unable to do the Player Rankings tables which is needed for this
SOME STATS
Here’s a comparison between Aguero, Alli and Ibrahimovic against the 7 bottom teams. While Watford aren’t in the bottom 7 they’ve conceded enough goals to be in it. Aguero and Alli’s stats are at home. Ibra’s are away.
The table shows the FPL points gained against various sides. I think the abbreviations are obvious hopefully.
Here’s how the defences they will face fared against the top 7 sides to get any clues how they might fare. The Hull stats are only since Silva took over as manager. The gaps are where they are yet to play.
Here’s the squawka comparison over the season for their underlying stats.
FFGEEK CHOICE AND SUMMARY
Here’s an interesting tweet about Watford from the excellent injury site phsyioroom:
Mazzarri says watford will face Tottenham “without a defence” as the Hornets’ injury crisis intensified ahead of Saturday’s. Kaboul [hamstring] is out while defender Sebastian Prodl is recovering from a rib injury. Centre-back Miguel Britos is suspended.
This makes Dele Alli more attractive definitely
The bookies see Aguero as a clear favourite with Ibrahimovic not that far behind and Dele Alli much further back.
The Polls also support Aguero. However looking at the stats Ibra has performed the best against the lower teams and Sunderland has probably performed defensively the worst against the higher place teams. Underlying stats over the season tend to show Aguero and Ibra close and quite far ahead of Dele Alli.
The Watford defensive situation is interesting though and helps Alli’s case.
From my perspective though if I owned Aguero he would be my choice. Now it’s between Ibrahimovic and Alli. My preference is to stick with Ibrahimovic although I still have close to 24 hours to change my mind.
I’ll tweet if I do.
Good luck with whatever your choice is
