fantasy premier league clean sheet predictions gameweek 27 – part 2

Gameweek analysis

Here’s my gameweek 27 fantasy premier league clean sheet predictions – part 2

Reading v Wigan

Home clean sheet

The Reading home defence has the worst underlying stats of any team.  Its also conceded 24 goals in 13 games which again is one of the worst goals at home.  3 clean sheets does show that they have the ability to keep clean sheets against the right opposition

The Wigan away attack is lower mid table in underlying stats and in a similar position on goals which is 13 in 13 games.

Away clean sheet

Wigan are a higher mid table team in underlying stats but have concede 24 goals in 13 games which is worse than the underlying position.  3 clean sheets though which is good and shows that they seem to get hammered against the big sides but have the ability to get clean sheets against the poorer sides

Reading have one of the worst home attacks in underlying stats.  22 goals in 13 games though is much better than this

CLEAN SHEET PREDICTIONS

No Clean sheet: It looks like a 1-1 to me although it definitely has nil nil potential

WBA v Sunderland

Home clean sheet

The WBA defence is lower mid table in underlying stats at home.  However in actual returns it is operating at a far higher level.  5 clean sheets is a top qtr return for home games and 12g oals conceded in 13 games is one of the best for all the divisions.  They are way over performing their underlying stats.  Part of that is due to the excellent GK but I cant see them bucking them so significantly forever

The Sunderland attack away from home is lower qtr in underlying stats.  Their goal return is better though and more like a mid table return as they have scored 17 goals in 13 games.  Graham will improve their attacking ability.

Away clean sheet

The sunderland away defence in underlying returns is one of the worst in fantasy premier league.  3 clean sheets though is better than this and more of a mid table return.  21 goals conceded in 13 games again is a mid table away defence

The WBA home attack is lower mid table in underlying stats and 19 goal scored in 13 games reflects this

CLEAN SHEET PREDICTIONS

No clean sheet:    I’m a sceptic on the Sunderland defence and I definitely think WBA will score.  The only question is whether WBA will keep a clean sheet.  I think they have been overperforming their stats and I’m backing Sunderland to get 1

Man City v Chelsea

Home clean sheet

Man City have the 2nd best home defence in underlying stats to Liverpool.  11 goals in 13 games conceded though is best in the league at home.  6 clean sheets is 2nd again only to Liverpool.  Kompany has a good chance of playing.

Chelseas underlying stats away from home are higher mid table.  However in goals scored they have done far better.  They now have Ba who I expect to play and has improved the attack no end.

Away clean sheet

The Chelsea away defence is a top 3rd only defence in underlying stats.  However they have performed far better than that with 4 away clean sheets which is up their with the best and only conceded 16 in 13 games which again is up their with the best.  Terry back improves the defence as well

the City home attack is 2nd best in underlying stats and top 4 in goals scored with 29 in 13.  All strikers fit helps

CLEAN SHEET PREDICTIONS

No clean sheet:     Too much at stake here.  I think city will definitely score as the Chelsea defence away isn’t as good as the actual stats show.  City could possibly keep a clean sheet but there’s too much class in the Chelsea attack which will rise to the big occasion in my mind.

Newcastle v Southampton

Home clean sheet

The Newcastle home defence in contrast to last year has not performed well at home.  They’re lower quarter in underlying stats and 3 CSs reflect this.  The 18 goals conceded in 13 games is also consistent.  The defence with injuries in the past now cleared up and new signings is better than their overall season stats though and they will improve.

The Southampton away attack is surprisingly good with a upper third underlying stats and 18 goals scored in 13 games which again reflects the same position

Away clean sheet

The Southampton defence doesn’t perform away from home at all.  Its lower quarter in underlying stats and has conceded 30 goals in 13 games which is 2nd worst in the division.  Only 1 clean sheet where Reading is only worse than this.  The new manager I believe will improve things defensively

The Newcastle home attack is mid table in underlying stats and has scored 17 goals in 13 games  which is worse than mid table.  However this is overall season stats.  Although Ba has gone the addition of Sissoko and Gouffran will  improve this

CLEAN SHEET PREDICTIONS

No Clean sheet.  Newcastle will definitely score. The only question is whether the improved and injury free defence can keep a clean sheet.  I think the Southampton attack will score.  It has the stats and the pressing game the new manager has installed will pressure Newcastle in to mistakes

West Ham v Spurs

Home Clean sheet

West ham have  a mid table underlying stats home  defence and 4 clean sheets which reflect this.  14 goals in 13 games conceded though is slightly worse than this position.  he Wes Ham defence maybe back to full fitness including Collins

The Spurs attack away is top 3rd in underling stats.  In goals scored though 24 in 13 games only Man U and Chelsea are better

Away clean sheet

The Spurs home defence is 2nd only to man city in underlying stats.  4 clean sheets again is 2nd only to City, Arsenal and Swansea who have 5 CSs.  17 goals conceded in 13 games though doesn’t reflect this but is still upper 3rd

The West Ham home attack is  in the upper 3rd in underlying stats  and is mid table in goals with 21 scored in 13 games.

Clean sheet predictions

No Clean sheet:  I think Spurs will score.  The question is whether they will keep a clean sheet.  I don’t think they will as the West Ham attack has performed well at home
