Both attack and defence ranking use a mixture of actual and underlying stats. We also give you one of the bookies odds for clean sheets and rank them in order to give you another view. I hope you find it interesting and useful in deciding the lineup for your team.

Firstly here are the fixtures.

The analysis doesn’t take into account the Palace vs Everton extra game as no bookies odds as yet.  Lets face it though, if you’ve got an Everton and/or Palace defender you’re going to play them.

We go through each team by the clean sheet rank I’ve given them. We calculated that in a very basic way. We’ve compared the rank of the teams defence vs the rank of the opponents attack. Thats why we’ve put the clean sheet odds for GW33 of one bookie as another point of reference. We’ve also given you the rank of those odds for each of the teams. The clean sheet odds are the amount won for £1 invested. The odds are of when I wrote the article. Hope thats clear. In ranking the bookies, if the odds are the same for 2 or more teams, I’ve followed my ranking. As I’ve used stats over the season sometimes recent circumstances wont be factored in. Thats why it’s worth looking at the bookies odds and especially the outliers as another view

FFGEEK vs the Bookies

We look at last weeks clean sheets and compare how we ranked them as clean sheet possibilities vs how the bookies did. The lower the predicted rank and running total the better obviously. 7 clean sheets this week.

So yet another victory for me, albeit by the slimmest margin.  Only lost 1 in the last 7 now

Last week

Only 3 differences. I favoured Spurs over Liverpool and Man City over Bournemouth far more than the bookies and they favoured Sunderland over WBA more than me.  So the bookies got 2 of these compared to me

This week

So we look at the differences in rank and highlight where they are different by more than 5.

Only 1 difference the bookies favour Sunderland for a clean sheet over Leicester far more than me.  I’ll take that on

Hope this helps with your selections
