STAT DEFINITIONS

I’ve firstly ordered the teams by what I think is their defensive strength based on this season’s stats. The stats after that are their:

best cheap secure gametime option and an attacking option so you can compare price.
even potentially cheaper player who needs further explanation which is below the schedule

THE VALUE RISK PLAYERS

Man City

Otamendi is suspended this week but both Otamendi and Stones have the issue of Kompany if he’s ever fit above him.

Man Utd

Jones is definitely the pick it’s just whether he’s injured or not this week.

Chelsea

Luiz was left out of the team last week apparently after a fall out with the manager.  Reports suggest that this is now done so you would think he would start.

Hegazi

Seems to keep being picked if you want to save the cash over Evans but has alot of competition

THE £4.5M ISH MEN

As i said last week, ideally you’re looking for a £4.5m defender with a team that is good at home and that’s where you plan their fixtures for.

There are 3 candidates which fit that bill albeit on limited data

Liverpool Gomez/Moreno

Leicester Simpson

Burnley Mee/Ward

Unfortunately none of them as combinations rotate together particularly well. So if you’re looking for home and away rotation options you may need to accept a less than perfect rotation partner

PLAYER SUGGESTIONS FOR GW12

Here we look at finding some options for GW12 balancing defensive strength, the next fixture and fixtures ahead. A number of options this week.

Man Utd – a great time to buy.  Monitor Jones’ injury otherwise you may have to go for Valencia as the expensive option or De Gea to save cash.  Smalling has played a number of games  but still at risk of a back 4 Jones/Bailly partnership

Chelsea – a great time to buy with good fixtures over the horizon.  Luiz if noises are positive around a start or then it’s a splash out to Azpilicueta or Alonso

Mee or Ward or Pope.  A great entry point for Burnley players

Gomez or Moreno – a good home fixture at around £4.5m for both.  Buy for home rotation only at the moment.

Daniels – a great time to buy if you’re so inclined.  A good run of fixtures although Bournemouths defence has some questions and while Daniels looks great on the eye his xG and xA are terrible.

Dann – Palace have a good run of fixtures and aren’t a disaster at home.  Dann has very good attacking potential.  He’s at a reasonable price and if you’re looking to throw the dice with carefree abandon then this may suit you

Looking to move on Charlie Daniels through GW16 as well as Shane Duffy, which is more of a budget move, but does allow a good rotation with Danels through GW22. While I haven’t moved on Phil Jones, I might include him after GW17 as United looks solid and IF jones can remain fit.

Really happy with a back line of Daniels, Jones, Azpi, Ward and Kola (to revert to Otamendi when back). Was thrilled with Davies for ages and was an early bandwagoner, but can no longer run the risk of so much value being left on the bench.

It’s players like these that have saved my bacon on more than one occasion this season though. Frontloading just hasn’t worked for me…wrong combos at the wrong time or my captain choice being about as useful as Emile Heskey. So I’ve switched formation. Currently have Kane and Aguero with a cheapie in the form of Calvert-Lewin. If even Aguero can’t cement a starting berth under Pep, then he’s getting the boot for Morata.

Mids have proven troublesome too. Pep’s rotation shenanigans don’t help here either of course and I currently have Sane and Salah as my spine, with a rotation of Richarlison / Gross / Gray for third place.

I think Ramsay is becoming a bit of a dark horse and I moved him out but he has made me regret it ever since. I think a strong back line with a Salah / Sane / Ramsay spine would work wonders. Only reason I’m holding back is to see if the Hazard of old suddenly returns. If it’s to happen, it’ll be over the next few games as Chelsea’s fixtures are shaping up nicely.

Unless things change drastically, I’m going to stick with 5-3-2 or 4-4-2 for the foreseeable.

Good luck – oh and I’d definitely swoop for Jones before another price rise. Currently the only player I haven’t touched or even thought about touching (oo-err missus) from the beginning. Even when injured, he’s managed to drag home the points. Value monster…!!
