the best value and attacking defenders

So here’s the table. Effectively I’ve ranked the defences taking into account their defensive stats strength. Added to the table is the rank of easiness of the upcoming next 6 and 3 fixtures.    I’ve then given you the best value defender and the best attacking defender. Values are as of Thursday. transfer suggestions

Looking at the optimum combination of strong defence at an appropriate value, good fixtures and good odds then the best transfers for this gameweek in my view are:

with DGW34 in mind

£4.8m Ward  – C Palace.  Unless you want to wait to see if Van AAnholt is fir for DGW34

with DGW36 in mind

£4.8m Gabriel –  Arsenal

ignoring DGWs

£4.7m Johnson Stoke

£4.1m Holgate Everton

comments and cheapie watch

Spurs  – the situation is tricky.  There are 2 value fullbacks in £4.9m Davies and £4.7m Trippier started in GW32.  With Trippier it’s a bit early to say he’s taken Walkers place and Spurs are making positive noises about Rose so I’ve put Vertonghen as the cheapie.

Southampton  – £4.1m CB Stevens is holding his place at £4.1m.  You may want to roll the dice or get Yoshida who’s only £0.3m more expensive.

Stoke – £4.2m Cameron has started 5 of the last 6 but I’ve stuck with £4.7m Johnson as the cheapie as I’m a little unsure of his longevity.

WBA – £5.3m McAuley seems to have become a sub magnet and even Brunt seems to be rotated so I’ve gone for Dawson as the attacking pick.

C Palace – £4.9m Van Aanholt is back in training.  Hopefully should be ready for DGW34 but for the moment I’ve gone for Ward.

Liverpool – The CB situation is ridiculous between Klavan and Lovren so I’ve gone for the more expesive Matip as the security.

West Ham – injuries and changes in selection have meant I just haven’t even tried to pick someone safe.  There’s no reason either as the defence is hopeless.

Leicester – the Champions League fixture next week could see any team put out at the weekend.  Huth is suspended for that so he should at least play in GW33.
