I’ll show the team below but for the sake of simplicity I’ll start with the transfer. In the end the thought of an Easter weekend worrying about Charlie Austin affecting my ranking as a double week captain was just too much. Kane was definitely going no where to make way so in the end Giroud did instead of Aguero. Aguero is another player with still high ownership who has to see his finishing luck change so that plus the blank was the reason why Giroud got the drop
I’ve still got 1 transfer up my sleeve and I did think of transferring Silva for Sanchez but that left me with potentially no Arsenal player away to Burnley in GW32 and Silva then making 2 Man City players away to Man United in GW32 which is a game that might be defensively played by LVG.

As far as team selection is concerned the midfield 3 as it shows there was a no brainer as was Terry in defence. 3 from 4 of Bellerin, PVA, Alderweireld and Puncheon though was a necessary choice. In the end I went for the defensive 3 and showed some faith in the Man City defence against Puncheon. The defensive options are all a much of a muchness with the betting odds of Sunderland and Arsenal at £2.75 for a clean sheet and Southampton £3.00. Interestingly Puncheon is only £4.00 for a goal which seems a little tight. It’s not a fair comparison to a clean sheet though as he has set pieces and good assist potential.
In the end it ended up in the 3 defenders with Puncheon on the bench.
Captain was Austin. A tricky one because as you saw in the article this morning that Kanes stats are far better but a DGW is a DGW and that swung it for me
