The best value and attacking defenders
So here’s the table. Effectively I’ve ranked the defences based on their defensive stats strength. Added to the table is the rank of easiness of the upcoming next fixtures from DGW36 to the end of the season. Here’s the link to the full fixture ease article. I’ve then given you the best value defender and the best attacking defender. Values are as of Thursday.

Transfer suggestions
For those not using their wildcard and not just putting in the DGW36 players, looking at the optimum combination of strong defence at an appropriate value, good fixtures and good odds then the best transfers for this gameweek in my view are:
Alonso £6.8m or £6.4m Azpilicueta of Chelsea
Vertonghen £5.7m or Alderweireld £6.3m of Spurs
Comments and cheapie watch
Man Utd – A couple of days ago Blind looked the only option due to injuries. Now we seemingly have every CB back and Mourinho publically stating the EL is the priority and players could be rested for the Arsenal game. Good news for Sanchez maybe but not in choosing a Man Utd defender. Anyone could play CB now, Anyone could play LB and if you’re lucky Valencia could play half the games at RB. If you want Man Utd defensive coverage your only safe bet is the GK De Gea at £5.5m
Chelsea – Luiz is an injury doubt. If it’s season ending then £3.8m Nathan Ake could be one of the presents of the season. Seeing he played the FA Cup semi against Spurs and was very effective then he would probably step in. Hopefully Conte will say something in the press conference
Spurs – there are reports that RB Walker has fallen out to some extent with Poch which would allow Trippier to come in at £4.7m. It is a big gamble though. At LB Rose will be in full training next week they say which could cause problems for the current £4.9m LB Ben Davies. To gamble on him you need to believe that Rose is the Spurs equivalent of Luke Shaw.
Southampton – I haven’t put Stephens in but he seems fairly safe. For the £o.3m difference I would go for Yoshida that’s all.
Arsenal – CB Mustafi is back in full training. That means £4.8m Gabriel’s place is now totally down to them playing a back 3. He was subbed when they were chasing the game against Spursand went to a back 4 .
