Here’s our fantasy premier league DGW36 tips updated article where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers. This week we get to see the wildcard team of a manager in the top 100 overall rank. You’ll also feel better if you sold Negredo as a number of these managers also did. If you haven’t seen the article before this is where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers where in the last 3 seasons none have finished outside the top 10k. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection.
fantasy premier league DGW36 tips – analysing 10 top FPL managers
THE 10 MANAGERS FPL STATS
The stats of the top 10 managers are incredible again.
1. The overall average finishing position of the top 10 managers is 2,943
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)
3. 9 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000
GAMEWEEK REVIEW
A bad week for the top 10 FPL managers. 8 of the 10 had red arrows.
The average score of the managers in GW35 was 50 compared to the average of 46. Thats 4 points and 9% above the average score. The high score of the 10 was 65. The low score was 41. A quite low spread of 24 even for an low scoring gameweek.
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers stayed the same at 91k. The best rank is just under 100 and the lowest 342k. If you calculated the median rank then that dropped to 43k compared to 39k last gameweek. A worsening of rank of 4k. At the moment 6 have overall ranks inside 100k. 2 are inside the top 10k.
The average value sees a drop to £105.2m up from £105.9m in the last gameweek. That will be due to the wildcards which undoubtedly are being used at the moment.
If you’re interested my score was an ordinary one at 51. You may have seen my FFGeek gameweek review article which goes into more detail. Surprisingly I had a higher score than 7 of the managers. My overall rank is now 79k compared to 74k last gameweek. A worsening of rank of 5k. I’m ahead of 4 of the top 10 managers. My team value is low in comparison at £102.3m. A drop compared to the last gameweek at £102.6m due to the wildcard transfers. My total score is 1919 points.

Wildcards, Transfers and Hits
The manager in the top 100 used his wildcard last week. Here’s his team
Including him 3/10 have now played their 2nd wildcards. I imagine the other 7 are being used now.
0/10 have played their bench boost
10/10 have played their triple captain chip.
In this round 0 managers took a point deduction for an extra transfer.

COMPARISON WITH THE TOP 10K
Here’s a comparison with the how the top 10k overall rank average team looks like. The information is provided by the excellent site FPL discovery.
Again the relevance is diminished by the fact that I imagine 7/10 managers are using their WC
The top 10k scored similar to the top 10 FPL managers with 53 compared to 50 for the top 10 managers.
They have some big differences (30% difference is the benchmark) with the top 10k rank.
The top 10k don’t favour any player more significantly than the top 10 managers I follow.
The 10 Managers I follow favour the following more significantly than the top 10k
Pickford, Alonso, Valencia, Zaha and Kane
FOCUS ON 1 MANAGERS TEAM
Again we focus on the managers team who last season finished the highest of my then top 10 FPL managers ending up in 1,400th position. This manager is the closest thing to a fantasy football celebrity there is due to his consistent results so we’ll keep an eye on him. So far he’s 3rd of the top managers. I suspect with his WC and BB intact he’ll make it into the top 10k again
His gameweek score was poor at 46 and his overall rank is now 20k. His TV is £102.1m as a result of WC sales
Just to give you a bit of context his last 3 years overall rankings have been 1,450, 277 and 90.
THE HIGHEST SCORING AND LOWEST SCORING MANAGERS IN GW35
Highest scorer
He had the highest score of 65. He’s actually has the lowest overall rank of 324k. He also used his WC a few weeks ago,
Lowest scorer
The low score above was 41. This manager is just outside the top 1k and is yet to use his WC
TOP 10 MANAGERS COMBINED TEAM
Here’s a team to represent the top 10 managers. The value isn’t that bad around £103.5m
