The Bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek

Alexis Sanchez

With the double gameweek coming up for Arsenal and Sunderland their players dominate the transfers in so far this week.  Unsurprisingly the number 1 transfer in and probable captain for DGW37 is Sanchez.  In the last 5 games he’s scored 3 goals and 1 assist although returned in only 2 of those games.  His consistency return rate of 45% is a little low given his price but his explosiveness and captain potential is the reason why he will be a risky player not to own in the double gameweek.  Best underlying shooting stats of any midfielder.

Last 2 gameweeks of the season:

Defoe

You may have seen my article this week where I looked in more detail at Sunderlands assets prior to this double gameweek.  2 goals and an assist in his last 5 isn’t too bad form but after a good start he’s tailed off.  A FPL point every 21.5 minutes really isn’t particularly good and shows his fall away.  The last game against Everton where we started on the right of a front 3 and did  alot of defensive work does call into question his return potential as well.  The system was changed though and he eventually played in a pair up front.  He does have a good scoring record in the premier league though.  The fixtures couldn’t be much worse with the season ending against Arsenal and Chelsea.  If you have Aguero and also Giroud for the DGW you may have a difficult decision as to whether to take Harry Kane out in a home game to Hull

Cazorla

The £8.3m Arsenal midfielder has the main attraction of taking pens and although he looked threatening in the Swansea game he’s probably the least advanced of the Arsenal midfielders getting transfer attention.  1 assist in his last 5 isn’t exactly form to recommend him.  He’s returned a goal or assist in 12/35 games giving him a consistency rating of 34%.  Not significantly different than Ramsey or Ozil.  His transfer is all about the double gameweek and his penalty duties

DGW37  Man Utd (A)
DGW37  Sunderland (H)
West Brom (H)

Giroud

The £8.7m Arsenal striker is the most consistent returner of the Arsenal attacking assets at 54% and therefore a big attraction for the double gameweek.  Form wise it couldn’t be worse though with no returns in his last 4.  The underlying shooting stats have also fallen away although over the season they have been good.  Is this a blip or a permanent drop for the season?  Given that he will be a very highly owned asset by active managers is he a risk you want to take in not having?  Thats the questions you need to ask yourself.  Personally I want to hold my rank and are looking at his consistency and have decided to transfer him in

DGW37  Man Utd (A)
DGW37  Sunderland (H)
West Brom (H)

Aguero

The £12.8m Man City forward is the best striker in the league and a quality proven performer in the premier league.  8 goals and 2 assists in his last 5 games says it all.  The fixtures could be easier but Aguero is fixture proof thats for sure

Swansea (A)
Southampton (H)

The Sinking Ships

Hazard

Mourinho has said that he will play a number of young players in the away game to WBA now Chelsea have won the premier league.  However a full team will play the last game at home to Sunderland.  However the prospect of him only playing 1 more game and the difficulty in getting Sanchez in without sacrificing Hazard is what has lead to the sales.  I certainly had that problem and decided to take a risk and sell Hazard.  There’s no doubt he is the FPL player of the year and one of the most explosive, yet also consistent.  This is all about the gametime risk and the cash to get Sanchez in

West Brom (A)
Sunderland (H)

Kane

In putting particularly a Sunderland striker in the team for DGW37 the decision many will have to make is to whether to drop Harry Kane in the last 2 fixtures to accomodate that.  The risk is his still high ownership among active players and a home game to Hull in particular who will really be looking to win and will have to attack in order to do so, especially if they concede early.  While the £6.3m forward has been consistent over the season his recent form of 1 goal and 1 assist in the last 6 doesn’t scream hold.  Having missed the early part of the season though I would expect him to continue playing even with Spurs having little to play for.

Hull (H)
Everton (A)

Sterling

It doesn’t seem to matter how good the fixtures are or whether he plays striker or on the flank the £8.4m midfielder doesn’t seem to be able to find any resemblance of form and it’s now 4 games without a goal or assist.  Those 4 games included Hull and QPR.  Seemingly now more likely to play on the flank the home game to a safe Palace would look to be a fixture that you wouldn’t want to sell for but Sterling has certainly stretched that patience.  Liverpool have nothing to play for now which also places some risk over gametime and effectiveness.

Crystal Palace (H)
Stoke (A)

Rooney

An injury doubt, a game against Arsenal and the pressing need to get Giroud or a Sunderland striker into the team has seen the sales of the £10.7m Man Utd striker even with him moving back to striker rather than midfield.  That with LVG’s chopping and changing positions is a  hard thing to guarantee though.

Arsenal (H)
Hull (A)

Eriksen

Consisdering it’s 1 goal and 1 assist in the last 9 for the £8.0m Spurs midfielder it’s hard to believe it’s taken this long for him to be sold by some FPL managers.  No underlying stats and although he could score big early in the season his consistency was poor.  Given some of the fixtures he’s blanked in Hull at home doesn’t seem a compelling hold if you’re looking for Arsenal assets

Hull (H)
Everton (A)
