Here’s our fantasy premier league DGW37 tips interim article as the gameweek won’t be finished until Wednesday night. This article will let you see how the top 10 managers used their wildcards as 7 of them did.
If you haven’t seen the article before this is where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers where in the last 3 seasons none have finished outside the top 10k. The top 10 Managers have played 30 times in the last 3 years and none have finished outside the top 10k in that time. Considering how variable the last 3 years have been this is remarkable consistency and shows an ability to adapt strategy in different seasons. It also gives you a view other than my own on strategy and player selection.

Due to the amount of wildcard’s I wont do this in this gameweek. It’s better just to focus on the players in each managers team
Comparison with the top 10k
Here’s a comparison with the how the top 10k overall rank average team looks like. The information is provided by the excellent site FPL discovery.
I’ll compare the top 10k score with the top 10 managers in the updated article.
They have some big differences (30% difference is the benchmark) with the top 10k rank.
The top 10k only favour Lukaku more significantly than the top 10 managers I follow.
The 10 Managers I follow favour the following more significantly than the top 10k
Pickford, Caballero, Alonso, Yoshida, Stephens, Holgate, Vertonghen, Gabriel Hazard and Jesus more than the top 10k
Focus on 1 managers team
Again we focus on the managers team who last season finished the highest of my then top 10 FPL managers ending up in 1,400th position. This manager is the closest thing to a fantasy football celebrity there is due to his consistent results so we’ll keep an eye on him.
Here’s his team after the Sundays games but before the bonus points were added. He had scored 36 at that point:
Just to give you a bit of context his last 3 years overall rankings have been 1,450, 277 and 90.
The highest and lowest scoring managers at this point
Highest scorer
41 points after Sundays matches but before bonus points. Wildcard used
Lowest scorer
29 points scored. He didn’t have a wildcard to use
Top 10 FPL managers combined team
Here’s a team to represent the top 10 managers. The value is around £105.5m
Interestingly only 1 change from my team which I probably would have done if I had the cash.
There is a real similarity to all the 10 managers teams at the moment. Here are the core players who are in more than 50% of the 10 managers teams are Caballero, Pickford, Stephens, Alonso, Yoshida, Holgate, Hazard, Alli, Sanchez, King, Jesus, Gabbiadini and Kane. Incredibly 13 players.
If you cross reference this with the top 10k managers with players over 50% then by that definition King, Alli, Sanchez and Kane become essential
