fantasy premier league differential teams – the alternate FFGeek teams update

Fantasy Premier League, ffgeek teams

Time has meant I haven’t been able to do my regular weekly alternate FFGeek teams updates.  With it being the International Break here’s a fantasy premier league differential teams article to  round up of how they are doing and future plans.  If you remember this now consists of the bookies team, the expected goals team and the bandwagons team.

These were 3 teams I put together to see if there were alternate ways of playing FPL.  They all play by formula so they take very little time to do each week but that has it’s limitations unfortunately.

The Bookies team

The Bookies teams current rank is a fairly ordinary 179k although it has all chips in place

The team finished with an OR of 6k last season.

The bookies team was set up by picking the best anytime goal scoring odds from bookies for attacking players and clean sheet odds for defenders for the next game only with no reference to future fixtures.  If you’re interested in this methodology then there’s this Promo from Coral

2 transfers are made every 2 weeks unless there’s an injury or a gametime risk. The 2 transfers will seek to improve the overall odds for the 11 players forecast to play. The captain will be the player with the best ATGS odds.

Here’s the team as it currently stands.  It has 2 transfers this week,  a TV of £100.9m including £6.9m in the bank.

I will wildcard in 33, BB in 34, FH in 35 and TC in 37

The expected goals team

Same theory transfer every 2 weeks except for injury, place lost or suspension. Transfers will be to replace lowest ranked with highest ranked subject to team structure. Captain will be poll leader. I get these stats free from the excellent site understat.

Here’s the team going with a 96k OR and 1 transfer this week.  The TV is £101.9m with £4.2m in the bank.  I haven’t ruled out wildcarding this week as it’s not in great shape. although the plan is still the same with BB in 34, FH in 35 and TC in 37

The bandwagons team

This is a new team this season. The team was set up with the highest ownership players at the start of the season again within a team structure. Except when there’s injuries, 2 transfers every 2 weeks replacing the most transferred out players with the most transferred in. Transfers should be done early in that week in order to maximise team value. The captain will be the highest player in the polls.

The team has been a bit of a disaster missing out on Salah so it’s all been uphill.  It’s now 757k OR.  The TV is £100.3 as I have been doing the transfers at the end of the week rather than the start and included in that is £7.6m of cash in the bank.  There’s 1 free transfer.

As the teams a lost cause, I’m going to  do something different with a FH 34, TC 35/38 WC 36 BB37.  Hopefully Salah will end up in the team at some point!

That’s it.  I will try and do these weekly articles as they are one of my favourites to do it’s just at the end of the to do list and has been sacrificed
