fantasy premier league double gameweek 37 – my imaginary wildcard

Here’s our fantasy premier league double gameweek 37 imaginary wildcard team.  This is where we pick a team pretending we have a wildcard.  It gives you player ideas based on a longer period than just 1 gameweek.  Firstly here’s the team

The Goalkeepers

Ospina  – I think Ospina apart from Koscielny is the safest player to play both games in the double gameweek 37.  Arsenal has 12 clean sheets and 7th on the list of clean sheets for the season so it has been a disappointing defensive season.  However I’m speading my risk over the double gameweek and have gone for some representation as 2 clean sheets out of the last 3 is quite possible.  If you’re chasing in a mini league you might want to go for 3 attacking players

Next 2 gameweeks to the end of the season:

DGW37 Man Utd (A)
DGW37 Sunderland (H)
West Brom (H)

Myhill – Just cheap cover.  Shouldn’t play which is just as well given the fixtures

Chelsea (H)
Arsenal (A)

The Defence

Terry – Mourinho’s words does give some credence to the fact that Terry will play all the games to the end of the season.  Definitely the best defensive team with 17 clean sheets the most clean sheets.  They have also conceded the least goals and they have conceded more than 1 goal less times than any team.  That desire to keep clean sheets should continue even with the league won

West Brom (A)
Sunderland (H)

Collins – 2 clean sheets in the last 3 and a couple of reasonable fixtures next plus his value makes Collins a reasonable prospect for the next 2 games.  12th equal with 9 clean sheets hasn’t really seen a great defensive season so it’s on fixtures and recent form.  Creswell is the attacking option but far more expensive at £5.6m

Everton (H)
Newcastle (A)

Morgan – The season clean sheet stats aren’t great with 9 clean sheets but 4 clean sheets in the last 5 are great form as well as his 2 goals in the last 8 games.  Good fixtures left as well. Wasilewski is the cheaper option at £3.8m but does have some gametime risk having just got back into the team.

Sunderland (A)
QPR (H)

Van Aanholt – The best value and the best attacking defender with 5 assists in the Sunderland team.  Fixtures aren’t easy but in my mind it’s worth rolling the dice for the double gameweek

DGW37  Leicester (H)
DGW37  Arsenal (A)
Chelsea (A)

Duff – A cheap filler for the last couple of games.  3 clean sheets in the last 8 games and they’ve only conceded more than 1 goal in those 8 games once.

Stoke (H)
Aston Villa (A)

The midfield

Silva – 1 goal and 3 assists in the last 4 sounds good form but all but 1 assist came in the GW36 6-0 mauling of QPR.  An FPL point every 13.8 minutes is a pretty good season return.  A consistency return rate ie the % of games that a goal or assist has been acheived of 50% is good.  Fixtures are a bit mixed but City are a strong attacking team and can score against anyone.  High ownership among active players so worth covering if you’re leading

Swansea (A)
Southampton (H)
