fantasy premier league double gameweek planning – some initial thoughts for the FFGeek team

Fantasy Premier League, ffgeek teams

I thought it would be worth sharing my fantasy premier league double gameweek planning thoughts in an article as it may help your FPL team.  I run through the teams for DGW34, the transfers and walk through the gameweeks 1 by 1 with various options.

OVERVIEW

Firstly here’s my team as it stands.  94k overall rank.  £102.7m TV and 2 transfers rolled over.  6 transfers before DGW34

My fantasy premier league double gameweek planning in an article to help your FPL team.

So at the moment there are 2 DGWs to focus on.  DGW34 which sees Man Utd, Middlesborough and C Palace all having double gameweeks.

The consensus at the moment seems to be that Southampton v Arsenal will go into GW35 or GW36.  I’m a tad sceptical that this is a definite as some people think but are assuming it for my planning.

There also should be a big DGW37 for the remaining postponed games.  See my recent double gameweek article if you want the full background.   However my thoughts at the moment are that I will deal with that by way of a Wildcard before DGW37 and use the bench boost in DGW37.  That means I’m ignoring DGW37 for this article.

The broad plan and issues

Whether Southampton v Arsenal is in GW35 or GW36 is fairly material to me.  If it’s GW36 then I can wildcard at GW36 before the expected DGW37. That will set the team up for both doubles and I can bench boost in DGW37.  If the game is in GW35 then that feels a little bit far away as a wildcard for DGW37. Alot of things could change in that time.  So one of my major dilemma’s at the moment is whether to ignore Southampton and Arsenal and load up on DGW34 players or  integrate someSouthampton and Arsenal players along the way to avoid having to wildcard in GW35.  You’ll hear more on this later.

I’ve always been very conscious  of not wanting to take players out before a juicy game.  Thats even worse when they are a big captain favourite.  That needed to be taken into account.

Sanchez, Lukaku and Kane.  3 highly owned players at various points in time who have all had hat tricks this season.   They also all have the potential to score big as captains.  Lukaku I’m keeping.  Sanchez I’m getting back and Kane is up in the air due to injury

Given the above, I’m monitoring the gameweeks likely captain picks to see who could give me overall rank risk down the line.  Remembering you can’t own everyone.  I  wont give you all the detail here but Harry Kane if he returns early has the potential to be a big problem.  Maybe even considering Lukaku out for.  Costa and Hazard also have some good captain games.  Sanchez also has a couple of good ones.  I just can’t fit in Costa or Hazard but Sanchez may be necessary

Double gameweeks in my view suit attacking players more than defenders. The upside is generally higher and there’s less risk of 2 points over 2 games

These are all mulling around in my head at the moment

5 OPTIONS

So here are 5 different options depending on how they deal with different difficult issues.  All of them transfer in Ibra. Sanchez and Valencia

option 1 – Yoshida in.  Mane stays

My fantasy premier league double gameweek planning is an article to help your FPL team. Yoshida in mane stays

Transfers

GW30 – Coleman out Valencia in & Brunt out to Yoshida in

GW31 – Siggy out Sanchez in & Aguero out Ibra in and Carroll out Barnes in to generate funds (-8)

GW32 – Holebas out Chambers in

GW33 – Holgate out Van Aanholt in

DGW34 – King out Zaha in

Thoughts

An expensive option.  5 DGW34 players.  2 Arsenal and Southampton DGW players ready for GW35/36.  Putting Sanchez in for Siggy instead of Mane keeps Mane in for the home game to Bournemouth in GW31.  This option also puts Yoshida in for a home game to Bournemouth giving some back up.  It strengthens defence but means Barnes or Fletcher has to play in a 3-4-3.  Chambers and Van Aanholt should be fit for when the transfers occur.

Option 2 Yoshida in but Mane goes

My fantasy premier league double gameweek planning is an article to help your FPL team. Yoshida in and Mane out

Transfers

GW30 – Coleman out Valencia in & Brunt out Yoshida in

GW31 – Mane out Sanchez in & Aguero out Ibra in (-4)

GW32 – Holebas out Chambers in

GW33 – Holgate out Van Aanholt in

DGW34 – King out Zaha in

Thoughts

A cheaper option with only a -4 hit.  5 DGW34 players.  2 Arsenal and Southampton DGW players ready for GW35/36.  You lose Mane at home to Bournemouth although Sanchez home to West Ham should be a strong captain option.  Carroll stays too.  Otherwise as for above.

Option 3 – more emphasis on attacking players

My fantasy premier league double gameweek planning is an article to help your FPL team. More attacking emphasis in lineup

transfers

GW30 – Coleman out Valencia in

GW31 – Siggy out Sanchez in & Aguero out Ibrahimovic in Carroll to Barnes (-4)

GW32 – King out Zaha in

GW33 – no transfer

DGW34 – Mane out Mkhitaryan in.  Brunt out Van Aanholt in

Thoughts

A cheaper option again with only a -4 hit.  5 DGW34 players but 3 attacking players and 2 defenders.  1 Arsenal and Southampton DGW player ready for GW35/36.  This would need Mkhitaryan or Mata to have improved their gametime and minute security markedly.  Defence left with 2 problem players though.

Option 4 – No Yoshida Mane stays

My fantasy premier league double gameweek planning is an article to help your FPL team. No Yoshida Mane Stays

Transfers

GW30 – Coleman out Valencia in

GW31 – Siggy out Sanchez in & Aguero out Ibra in & Barnes/Stuani in (-4)

GW32 – Holebas out Chambers in

GW33 – Holgate out Van Aanholt in

DGW34 – King out Zaha in

Thoughts

A -4 hit required for this.  5 DGW34 players.  1 Arsenal and Southampton DGW player ready for GW35/36.  Stuani has to vastly improve gametime

Option 4 – No Yoshida Mane goes

My fantasy premier league double gameweek planning is an article to help your FPL team. No yoshida Mane goes

Transfers

GW30 – Coleman out Valencia in

GW31 – Mane out Sanchez in & Aguero out Ibra in

GW32 – Holebas out Chambers in

GW33 – Brunt out Van Aanholt in

DGW34 – Carroll out Negredo in

Thoughts

The only option with no hit required.  5 DGW34 players.  1 Arsenal and Southampton DGW player ready for GW35/36.

THE FFGEEK FAVOURED OPTION

At the moment this is just to get me thinking.  I’m not a fan of hits generally but I’m not convinced on option 5.  I’ll be mulling it over for the Friday deadline
