fantasy premier league double gameweeks – 6 value players to look out for in Wednesdays games

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s a quick look forward to the fantasy premier league double gameweeks to give you something additional to think about in tonight’s DGW34 games.  We look at a few value players who have double gameweeks in DGW36 and/or DGW37

fantasy premier league double gameweeks – 6 value players to look out for in Wednesdays games

Firstly it’s worth mentioning that the term value can have 2 meanings in this article.  The first means good value in relation to some of their own expensive team mates.  The 2nd meaning is just cheap which will hopefully free up funds for other costlier players.

With Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal having good DGW37 fixtures and Spurs players in great form this may force some sacrifices with players coming in that aren’t your ideal.

Remember in DGW37, if you’re planning on using your bench boost,  it’s not just finding the cash for your playing 11 you’ve got to find it for your bench as well.  That will put pressure on most of our FPL bank balances

Here’s 6 players who are playing on Wednesday night who have some potential to play a part in our squads for DGW37.

Remember this is only teams playing on Wednesday night and the pool will be far bigger for DGW37 than just these players.  We’ll be looking far wider next week

Firstly here’s a table of basic stats and underlying stats for quick referral.  The stats are there for easy referral not for comparison as the players are of different values and different positions

I’ll then talk about their prospects and give the fixtures from GW35 to he end of the season

Here’s the squawka underlying stats:

Ozil

Ok the Arsenal CAM is not exactly “value” at £9.4m but he is relatively cheap compared to Sanchez at £11.5m.  It would take a braver man than me to not have Sanchez in DGW36 where he will undoubtedly be the overall captain favourite.  However for DGW37 it maybe slightly less risky as the captain spread with a few top 4 challenging teams with good fixtures maybe wider.   Therefore it will be safer to make some key sacrifices.

Most of the season Ozil has been disappointing.  Certainly 7 goals and a paltry 8 assists so far is well beneath his talent and position in the Arsenal team. Last year he admittedly was exceptional but got 19 assists.  However 2 goals and 2 assists in his last 4 games gives us hope that he will keep a run of form going to the end of the season.

Arsenal are currently 7 points behind Manchester City in 4th with a game in hand.  That means 4th place could still be obtainable in DGW37.  That would hopefully see no rotation.  Ozil with set pieces and his assist potential isn’t often rotated.

Tonight will be about seeing if his good form can continue.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Southampton (A) DGW36
Stoke (A) DGW37
Sunderland (H) DGW37
Everton (H)

Albrighton

A cheap 5th midfielder guaranteed to play who can contribute to points is essential for our bench squads in DGW37.  The obvious issue with Leicester is that they have nothing to play for and their DGW37 is against Man City and Spurs.  The fixtures around it however are good although on the bench that may not mean much. The Leicester LM has just come into form with 1 goal and 4 assists in his last 6 games.  Whats more his premier league gametime at 1800 minutes isn’t really excessive.  Shakespeare could rest him to give young Damari Gray some gametime but he could also do that for Mahrez who’s played more minutes.

It would be good to see him play against Arsenal tonight and for his good form to continue.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

West Brom (A)
Watford (H)
Man City (A) DGW37
Spurs (H) DGW37
Bournemouth (H)

Khazri

Now this maybe a bit of a stretch putting in the Sunderland attacking midfielder on the basis of 1 appearance where he scored direct from a corner.  At £6.0m you may also question how cheap he is.  The West Ham GW33 game was the only game he started since GW10.  Sunderland are quite likely to be relegated by DGW37.

If you’re still reading after that paragraph my theory is based around the fact that the club will want him to get gametime in order to realise some of the money back they paid.  He’s hardly a Championship player.  He also will play a big part in set pieces should he start.  He also has pedigree albeit in the French League.  His 15/16 season for Bordeaux saw 5 goals and 7 assists at a rate of a goal or assist every 132 minutes.  14/15 for the same club saw 9 goals and 7 assists for a goal or assist every 148 minutes.  Both those stats are good.

Tonight it will mainly about seeing him start in such a crucial game.

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:

Bournemouth (H)
Hull (A)
Swansea (H) DGW37
Arsenal (A) DGW37
Chelsea (A)

Anichebe

What better way to generate some funds and have a credible player off the bench than a £4.3m forward.

The Sunderland forward doesn’t have a great record this season with 3 goals and 1 assist at a goal or assist every 230 minutes.  Whats more his last 4 outings don’t exactly help either.  However he’s started the last 2 and on his day he can score against anyone.  Certainly Swansea in the DGW is a good fixture.

Tonight it would be good to see him start and play well.

Son HM

What do you do as  a manager when your favoured formation of 3-4-2-1 doesn’t accommodate an attacking midfielder in absolutely blistering form.  You try and fit him in your favoured formation as a make shift wingback of course.  Thats what happened with Son in the FA Cup semi against Chelsea with the ill fated result that he gave away a penalty and was subbed early.

Tonight Spurs have to win against Palace given Chelsea’s 7 point lead.  If Pochettino is serious about Son playing then he will start tonight.

It’s impossible to say how good his stats are.  His minutes per FPL point of 11.2 is better than Dele Alli’s of 13.0 and his goal or assist every 85 minutes is better than Alli’s of every 100 minutes.  The stats are phenomenal and they are not built on sand either.  His underlying stats are terrific.  He’s also ridiculously cheap for a Spurs attacking midfielder.

Over the next 2 games Son on the Spurs team sheet playing as an attacking midfielder not a wing back is the first thing you should be looking for

Gabriel

This year hasn’t exactly been a stellar one for the Arsenal defence.  9 clean sheets at this stage of the season is pretty appalling for a team with supposed title aspirations.  Middlesboro and Southampton have more clean sheets.  Even Bournemouth, yes that joke of a defence, have 9 clean sheets.

Putting that aside Gabriel represents great value compared to the rest of the defence and with 2 reasonable double gameweek fixtures he would be a good addition to the squad.

To stay in the team Wenger needs to continue playing 3 at the back.  That and Gabriels name on the team sheet is what we’ll be looking for tonight

Fixtures from GW35 to the end of the season:
