fantasy premier league double gameweeks – a team of DGW37 players only

Fantasy Premier League

Just to give you some food for thought here’s a team solely consisting of players in teams with a DGW37.  To give you some thoughts in your planning for DGW37 and some ideas on who to pick.  I’m not suggesting you make use your wildcard for this team it’s just some individual ideas.

DGW37 Teams and fixtures

Here’s the 6 teams with 2 games and their fixtures over DGW37:

Man Utd (Hull H, Sunderland H)

Man City (Everton A, Aston Villa H)

WBA (Arsenal A. Sunderland A)

Sunderland ( Man Utd A, WBA H)

Aston Villa ( Hull H. Man City A)

Hull ( Aston Villa A, Man Utd A)

The DGW37 only team:

gw37dgwers

Mannone

Home to WBA is a definite clean sheet prospect.  Also for additional points, Mannone is also only second to Marshall in saves and the top bonus point GK

Chelsea (A)
Cardiff City (H)
Man Utd (A)  DGW37
West Brom (H)  DGW37
Swansea (H)

Harper

2 away games won’t be easy to pick up any clean sheets but Harper is at least excellent value as a 2nd choice keeper to roll out solely for DGW37 for save points as a minimum

Arsenal (H)
Fulham (A)
Aston Villa (A)  DGW37
Man Utd (A)  DGW37
Everton (H)

Zabaleta

A difficult game away at Everton but a pretty nailed on clean sheet at home to Villa as well as generally good fixtures.  The only choice is whether to go for 3 City attacking players or 2 attackers and 1 defender.  Zabaleta and Kompany are at a similar price but Zabaleta has a higher ownership and is probably freer from injury doubts.  City have no clean sheets in the last 3 but 5 consecutive clean sheets prior to that

fixtures to the end of the season excl DGW34:

West Brom (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Everton (A)  DGW37
Aston Villa (H)  DGW37
West Ham (H)

McAuley

Only 1 clean sheet in their last 13 is hardly a recommendation.  Believe it or not despite not scoring since GW11 McAuley is actually a good attacking threat from set pieces.  2 away fixtures but you have to give your self a clean sheet chance away to Sunderland

Man City (A)
West Ham (H)
Arsenal (A)  DGW37
Sunderland (A)  DGW37
Stoke City (H)

Vlaar

It’s been 4 games without a clean sheet and 11 goals conceded.  Again not a great recommendation but they do have a clean sheet prospect at home to Hull.  Vlaar isn’t much of an attacking threat with only 1 assist this season but is the bonus magnet with clean sheets with 12 bonus points.  The next best Villa defender has 4.  Baker at £3.9m is the cheapie choice

Southampton (H)
Swansea (A)
Hull City (H)  DGW37
Man City (A)  DGW37
Tottenham (A)

Rosenior

I’ve gone for Rosenior as the cheapie option considering Hull have 2 away games against Villa and Man Utd.  United maybe difficult but a Bentekeless Villa are definitely a clean sheet option.  Davies at £4.8m is the alternative  bonus and attacking option.  However a goal and an assist plus 2 clean sheets in the last 4 games has seen 30 points in 4 games from Rosenior.  At £4.0m he’s excellent value.

Arsenal (H)
Fulham (A)
Aston Villa (A)  DGW37
Man Utd (A)  DGW37
Everton (H)

Evra

Moyes has yet to play the same team twice in 50 games apparently so picking a defender who will play 2 games isn’t easy.  I’ve gone for the most likely in Evra as well as the best attacking defender of the group.  Despite their home form (which has improved recently) home games against Hull and Sunderland are hard to ignore from a clean sheet perspective.  Its 4 home games without a clean sheet for United but Hull and Sunderland are good targets as well as Norwich in GW36

Here’s the full fixtures to the end of the season:

Everton (A)
Norwich (H)
Sunderland (H)  DGW37
Hull City (H)  DGW37
Southampton (A)

Delph

The all action box to box cheapie for Villa whos got suddenly found his point scoring touch with a goal and 2 assists in his last 5 games.  A good 5th cheapie midfielders as a filler to pop up for 2 games in DGW37.

Southampton (H)
Swansea (A)
Hull City (H)  DGW37
Man City (A)  DGW37
Tottenham (A)

Mata

Up until 2 games ago Mata has flattered to deceive.  But playing in his favoured number 10 position has seen him gather 31 points in his last 2 games.  With excellent double gameweek fixtures home to Hull and Sunderland he looks a must have with Rooney as representation for DGW37.  Has a good share of set pieces as well.  The only warning is any return by RVP could return him to the flank where he’s less productive.  RVP has no return date on physioroom.com

Here’s the full fixtures to the end of the season:

Everton (A)
Norwich (H)
Sunderland (H)  DGW37
Hull City (H)  DGW37
Southampton (A)

Amalfitano

Another cheapie option at £4.2m to slot in for GW37.  The man who made a name for himself with his scoring performance at Old Trafford earlier in the season has now returned to the team with 2 goals and an assist in his last 3 games.  If you prefer a set piece taker as an option then Brunt at £4.8m is your best pick.

Man City (A)
West Ham (H)
Arsenal (A)  DGW37
Sunderland (A)  DGW37
Stoke City (H)

Silva

Need to check that he plays tonight as apparently carrying a toe injury which necessitates rest.  Also today could point towards whether he will play behind the striker or back on the flank if City play 2 strikers.  It’s hard to ignore the recent form though with 41 points in his last 5 games.

fixtures to the end of the season excl DGW34:

West Brom (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Everton (A)  DGW37
Aston Villa (H)  DGW37
West Ham (H)

Johnson

Made a load of chances for others in the loss to Everton but as often can happen in a poor scoring team it goes unrewarded.  He can turn it on but way more often he doesn’t.  Its whether you want to take the gamble that he does.  Has a good share of set pieces. 1 goal and 1 assist in his last 4 isn’t too bad form though.

Chelsea (A)
Cardiff City (H)
Man Utd (A)  DGW37
West Brom (H)  DGW37
Swansea (H)

Rooney

If he’s fit he’s a must have for GW36 home to Norwich let alone the DGW37 home to Hull and Sunderland.  42 points and 5 goals and an assist in his last 5 says it all.  Penalty duties plus a share of set pieces are also an additional bonus.  The downgrading of him could come though if RVP is fit.  At the moment he still has no return date on Physioroom.com

Here’s the full fixtures to the end of the season:

Everton (A)
Norwich (H)
Sunderland (H)  DGW37
Hull City (H)  DGW37
Southampton (A)

Aguero

Only had 23 disappointing minutes at Liverpool but he is the only player to even match Suarez’s stats this year and for me a must have.  Also has pens.  Will be interesting tonight to see if he plays as a lone striker or as part of a twin strike force and if he’s on the bench

fixtures to the end of the season excl DGW34:

West Brom (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Everton (A)  DGW37
Aston Villa (H)  DGW37
West Ham (H)

Jelavic

A goal and an assist in his last 5 and probably the best cheapie option.  May have pens if his miss didn’t downgrade him.

Arsenal (H)
Fulham (A)
Aston Villa (A)  DGW37
Man Utd (A)  DGW37
Everton (H)

By the way I haven’t included YYT due to the injury although its possible he could be back for DGW37.
