Fantasy premier league doublegameweeks and blanks – travelling through DGW34 to DGW37

Fantasy Premier League

I know I said I would get back to ususal posts but I couldn’t help thinking about a DGW34 team within my meagre budget as opposed to the posts I’ve been doing recently which is to provide player suggestions resulting in higher value teams.  I thought that my musings may help your thoughts

Fantasy premier league doublegameweeks and blanks – travelling through DGW34 to DGW37

Firstly I found the following table really useful in planning my team.  It’s very simple and just tracks the double gameweek teams in GW34 through from DGW34 to DGW37.  If you’re not going all out then it’s pretty simple as you will probably be keeping Leicester and Spurs players

DGW34 (2 games)BGW35 (do play)DGW37 (2 games)
LiverpoolLiverpoolLiverpool
NewcastleNewcastle
Man CityMan City
ArsenalArsenal
WBAWBA
West HamWest Ham
WatfordWatford
EvertonEverton
Man UtdMan Utd
C Palace
SunderlandSunderland
 ChelseaChelsea
Norwich

This doesn’t include C Palace v Everton which is yet to be set

What it does show is that if you are planning an all out assault of 15 DGW players in DGW34 (including your bench boost) your Blank GW35 team will have to come from 5 teams apart from say 1 or 2 players you will change in transfers.

So at the moment my draft team looks like this.  The team is within my current budget of a very meagre £102.6.  Nothing in the bank which will mean price rises will rule it out in it’s exact form.  So there are some risks at the moment not only with price rises but also some gametime with some players.

So firstly 2 big gametime risks in Moreno and Gabriel.  However I could take Otamendi out to generate some additional funds if I need to and go for a Newcastle and WBA defender with Clyne instead of Otamendi. There’s no doubt sacrifices need to be made to get 15 DGW34 players plus bench boost and a full GW35 team .  However, the only players I wouldn’t ideally want are Milner and Ighalo.

So without carrying over any transfers my team for GW35 would be:

Elliot – Bellerin, Otamendi, Moreno, Gabriel – Milner, Ozil, Firmino – Aguero plus 2 carried over transfers would give 11 players with fixtures.  Rojo Lukaku, Antonio, Payet and Ighalo are the 5 players who could be transferred out

Already for DGW37 with 2 games are – Robles – Rojo Moreno – Milner, Antonio, Ozil, Payet, Firino – Aguero and Lukaku.  Thats 10 players with 2 games.

So what does this mean?

Firstly getting a reasonable team out on my limited budget for a DGW33 plus bench boost wasn’t as bad as I thought.  Yes I’ve got gametime risks in Moreno and Gabriel but that can be rectified by downgrading Otamendi to Clyne.  The only 2 players I wouldn’t really want are Ighalo and Milner which isn’t too bad.

What I don’t like is the prolonged time without Kane, Mahrez and Vardy.  Mahrez and Vardy.  Looking at their fixtures again

Leicester between GW33 and GW36 are:

GW33  Sunderland (A)
GW34 West Ham (H)
GW35 Swansea (H)
GW36 Man Utd (A)

Sunderland and Swansea are the good fixtures you would miss

As for Spurs:

GW33  Man Utd (H)
GW34 Stoke (A)
GW35 West Brom (H)
GW36 Chelsea (A)

Those fixtures could be alot worse and only the WBA game looks bad from the “not having Kane” point of view.  If anything the defensive players look more of a loss

Unfortunately I don’t have the answer yet.  I wont be doing  transfer today and may carry it over for the Aston Villa v Chelsea game.  Anyone who comes to the site regularly knows that if I can put off a decsion and cogitate and procrastinate then I will !

As ususal if I have got anything wrong then please tell me in the comments section

I hope if nothing else it helped you with your thoughts.  Now as many regular posts as I can fit in.
