fantasy premier league – the early bandwagons and sinking ships for GW17

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s my view of the fantasy premier league bandwagons and sinking ships for GW17 up coming.  If your’e not familiar these are the 5  most transferred in and the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek.  Remember its Capital One Cup quarters  this week so any early transfers of players involved in this could en d up injured

Suarez

It amazes me that there are 40,000 people who still haven’t got him. 2 goals and 3 assists away to Spurs to take his total to 16 goals and 10 assists in 11 games.  returning in 9 of 11.  Incredible a must have BUY

Rooney

An assist to put him on track after a blank and a suspension.  Prior to that he returned in 6 games consecutively.  Its 8 goals and 8 assists for the season in 14 games which isn’t Aguero or Suarez form but pretty excellent.  With RVP out he has pens and alot of the set pieces.

2 shadows though. Firstly he didn’t play up tip with Kagawa as I expected. Apparently Kagawa was still recovering from illness.  With Welbeck having been  so successful its likely Welbeck  will keep the role of most advanced forward with Rooney playing behind.  Rooney even for the position was continually playing extremely deep which was quite disturbing.  The other shadow is Uniteds home form.  West Ham have been good defensively away from home although they were put to the sword by Liverpool.

He is one f the natural  replacements for Aguero but I’m probably going to monitor rather than buy

Negredo

With Agueo going off injured and Pellegrini prior to a diagnosis talking about “weeks” Negredo is the natural choice to replace him.  This is even more so when you see the next fixture is a trip to Fulham.   He hasn’t particularly shown any shooting stats but City create so many chances he’s bound to score.  Its 7 goals and 3 assists in 15 appearances which is pretty good.  He’s returned in 6/12 when starting

He is a BUY for me the only question is to see whether he gets through the Capital one Cup game unscathed if selected.

Coleman

I went for Jagielka and got it horribly wrong.  Apologies.  Great defence and great fixtures plus attacking potential.  A BUY for me.

Lukaku

A lucky assist was his only return in the 4 game haul against Fulham.  He had another of his quiet days.  Such is his talent and the fixtures that i still see him as a Buy.  Returned in his last 5 games.

Fantasy Premier League Sinking Ships

Aguero

Injured in the game against Arsenal.  Pellegrini talked about weeks out although there’s been no official update on how long.  I have to confess I don’t understand price protection in fantasy premier league but I believe his price wont go down for a couple of days.  Don’t take that as gospel though.  It’s a bit of an area of mystery for me.  However if its weeks as expected its a sell.  Especially as you can get him back in the January fantasy premier league wildcard

Giroud

How he didn’t score on Saturday is beyond me.  Its now 3 games without a goal and 1 returning game in the last 6.  He seems to be back to the low conversion days. Personally I think Arsenal can be covered through Walcott, Ozil and/or Ramsey so selling Giroud to make space for another forward is a good idea.  Home to Chelsea is a natural selling point although there could begoals depending on managers attitudes.

 Lallana

Didn’t start against Newcastle.  Did make a difference when he came on but the fact is its no return in 6 games.  With a few tricky games ahead and other higher price options such as Walcott and Silva emerging then the mid price range options could be put to one side.  Spurs home next who will be desperate to show good defence means it’s a sell for me.

Remy

Missed 2 great chances including 1 absolute sitter against Southampton.  Hasn’t returned in 3 after returning in 4 in a row.  Its a tricky fixture away to Tony Pulis’ defensively rejuvenated Palace as well.  Personally I would sell for other options but it does depend on who you’ve got in your forward line

Gerrard

Injured and out for at least another month.  With the fantasy premier league January wildcard coming there’s no need to hold on. It’s a definite sell.
