Fantasy premier league – the early GW12 bandwagons and sinking ships

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s my view on the fantasy premier league bandwagons and sinking ships as we head towards gameweek 12.  If your’e not familiar these are the 5  most transferred in and the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek.  With a 2 week International break  most players will be playing a couple of games so you transfer early with some risk

The Bandwagons

Suarez

Unsurprisingly after a 16 point haul he’s by far the most transferred in.  If you’re doing it now you run the risk of injury in his WCQ play off game.  Of course  this applies to most fantasy premier league transfers these days with the globalisation of the game and international friendlies these 2 weeks as well.  WCQ playoffs should have a bit more intensity although 2 games against Jordan should be straightforward.

Suarez is undoubtedly a buy with 8 goals and 3 assists in 6 games and with Aguero the best underlying stats.  Only shadow is that he’s had a pretty easy run with Sunderland Palace and Fulham in those 6 games but he is proven quality and should shine irrespective of fixtures

Everton (A)   Hull City (A)   Norwich (H)   West Ham (H)  Tottenham (A)    Cardiff City (H)

Lallana

Had a slow start with 4 games without a return but now its 5 games in his last 7. Underlying stats are pretty ordinary though.  Does have some very tough fixtures next.    I’m not sure if I missed the Hull game that I would be investing now with the following games:

Arsenal (A)   Chelsea (A)   Aston Villa (H)   Man City (H)   Newcastle (A)   Tottenham (H)

Remy

An amazing 7 goals and an assist in the 9 games since he joined Newcastle off the back of nothing shooting and creating chances stats.  You have to just go with form sometimes and he really does have it.  Good next 3 fixtures for goals as well.

Norwich (H)   West Brom (H)   Swansea (A)   Man Utd (A)   Southampton (H)   Crystal Palace (A)

R Morrison

3 goals and an assist in 8 starts is not to be sniffed at for under £5.0m.  There aren’t many at under £5m who have anything like his gametime record even before you start to analyse returns.  I still think he’s a rotation play rather than on his own but it’s difficult to tell when he will return having done so against Everton Spurs and Man City.  I would probably wait until after the Chelsea game to buy him but he is a buy.  Although bearing in mind who he’s last returned against…

Chelsea (H)   Fulham (H)  Crystal Palace (A)  Liverpool (A)   Sunderland (H)   Man Utd (A)

Aguero

Unlucky not to score against Sunderland and definitely had the chances.  Shouldn’t  taint 8 goals and 7 assists in 10 games which is just phenomenal. Backed up by fantastic shooting and creating chances stats.  Tricky fixtures but although City struggle away Aguero doesn’t and he is a definite buy

The Sinking Ships

Sturridge

2 consecutive blanks, the 2nd in a 4-0  win over Fulham when your strike partner scores 2 and an assist is a recipe for mass sales in fantasy premier league.  So its turned out.  I don’t think he’s done anything wrong.  It’s just that Suarez is the best choice

Everton (A)   Hull City (A)   Norwich (H)   West Ham (H)  Tottenham (A)    Cardiff City (H)

Lukaku

2 blanks and 2 quiet games statistically in an environment which is very competitive for forwards in fantasy premier league means you are going to face sales.   Mixed games coming up and Liverpool the GW12 opponents doesn’t help.  Personally I would give him more time with 5 goals and an assist in his 7 starts for Everton.

Liverpool (H)   Stoke City (H)   Man Utd (A)   Arsenal (A)   Fulham (H)   Swansea (A)

Barkley

Looks like he’s lost his place to Osman unfortunately.  These things can turnaround but personally I think selling out to another cheapie is a better option given that he hasn’t returned for 5 games now.

Liverpool (H)   Stoke City (H)   Man Utd (A)   Arsenal (A)   Fulham (H)   Swansea (A)

Oscar

Disappointing performance against WBA and no comfort in the underlying stats either.  No return in 3 now for the designated number 10 and with Hazard looking good its not surprising there have been sales.  Fixtures aren’t too bad though but I’m not sure Id be holding on.

West Ham (A)   Southampton (H)   Sunderland (A)   Stoke City (A)   Crystal Palace (H)   Arsenal (A)

Giroud

No returns in 2 although they were against Liverpool and Man Utd.  5 goals and 4 assists in 11 games plus certainty of starts is still good enough for me to hold on.  Southampton could be tricky but the 2 after that are definitely worth holding for.

Southampton (H)   Cardiff City (A)   Hull City (H)   Everton (H)   Man City (A)   Chelsea (H)
