fantasy premier league – forwards GW27 “ones to watch”

Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s the “ones to watch” for forwards on the Barclays fantasy premier league team for GW27.    This will give the best forward players at a variety of price ranges.  Gameweek 29 is taken into account in the rankings

Barclays fantasy premier league – forwards GW27 “ones to watch”

There is no rule for forwards just pick the best ones especially now with goals virtually guaranteeing bonus points:

I’ve provided the following stats to support the player choices and to guide you in your decisions.  I’ve now moved this to this year’s stats:

1.  Goals and assists this year.

2.  Time per point scored this year.  This is how many minutes it takes for a Barclays fantasy premier league point to be scored over the course of the season.  The lower the better obviously.   I’ve now moved to this years stats

3.  Rotation risk.  High, medium or low.  High is the greatest risk of rotation.

4.  Fixture ease ranking:  The link is at the bottom of the article but essentially I’ve ranked all the teams by the ease of the first 6 fixtures.  The team with the best ranking ie 1 will have the easiest next fixtures of any of the fantasy premier league teams over the next 6 games.

5.  Consistency:  The % of times that the player got a goal or assist   as a % of games played

6.  I’ve also ranked them in their categories as who I think is currently the best choice

7.  I’ve added a new feature.  The last 5 return consistency rate.  This will show the amount of games in the last 5 played that have resulted in a goal or assist

8.  I’ve also added how many of the top 10 fantasy premier league managers I’ve followed.

Forwards

1.  Suarez (£13.4m)

Goals and assists: 22 goals and 16 assists:     Time per point scored:  9.2  mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 14th.  Consistency 17/21    84%               Last 5 return consistency rate:  4/5    How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow:  10

Ive still rated Saurez as number 1 as to me he ticks all the boxes the best and too much has been made of his recent form.  2 assists in his last 3 games may seem like a disaster and coupled with the disturbing sight of him stationed on the right wing in the first half against Arsenal in the FA Cup may even make some people question his ownership.  For me he’s still doing pretty much what he has been doing it’s just that not everything is turning to gold as it was.  Still a must have for me.

If you look at the last 3 games Suarez’s average position has been higher than Sturridges albeit slightly left of him.  He’s also had more shots in the box in 2 of those games and has created the same or more chances for team mates in all 3 games.  To me he’s still on track.

In any case very few people will be able to afford to sell him anyway.  Has a blank in GW29

2.  Sturridge (£10.1m)

  • Goals and assists:  16 goals 5 assists.  Time per point scored:  10.4 mins  .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 14th.  Consistency 15/17  88%          Last 5 return rate:  5/5    How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow: 7

You just can’t ignore this form and this consistency at the moment.  Absolutely incredible.  Just lethal in front of goal and has an ability to get onto Coutinho’s through balls especially.  Last 4 games especially he has shown his ability to finish with 5 goals and 2 assists.  Underlying stats in those games are still consistent though with the season.

Has a blank in GW29

3.  Adebayor (£8.2m)

  • Goals and assists:  8 goals 4 assists.  Time per point scored:  11.6 mins mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 16th.  Consistency since Sherwood 7/ 10   70%          Last 5 return rate:  3/5    How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow: 2

3 goals and an assist in his last 2 games plus no blanks in GW28/29 and 2 good fixtures next will make Adebayor a big attraction this game week.  Has been incredibly consistent since Sherwood took over.  Only negative is the underlying stats haven’t been as good as you would hope to ensure continuity of these returns.

4.  RVP (£13.6m)

  • Goals and assists:  10 goals 2 assists.  Time per point scored:  13.8 mins mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 11th.  Consistency  9/15  60%          Last 5 return rate:  3/5    How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow: 1

Since coming back from injury it’s 3 goals in 4 games and 3 returning matches.  The Rooney/RVP/Mata alchemy hasn’t really happened with Rooney inexplicably shunted back into midfield and Mata being played wide.  However last 4 games have seen him having lots of shots so there is still potential if the Rooney and Mata roles can be worked out.  He is one of the few captain options in the reduced gameweek 29.  Price is still a big barrier though.  No game in gw28 but double gameweek in  gameweek 31

5.  Benteke (£8.8m)

  • Goals and assists:  7 goals 2 assists.  Time per point scored:  21.6 mins mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 9th.  Consistency  7 /20  35%          Last 5 return rate:  3/5    How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow: 1

After returning in 4 consecutive games has not returned in 2 despite good opposition.  Underlying stats aren’t what they should be.  Does have pens but it’s been a pretty poor season considering his start  and his promise from last season.  Does have pens.  Has a blank in GW29

Newcastle (A)
Norwich (H)

Chelsea (H)
Stoke City (H)

6.  Lambert (£7.2m)

  • Goals and assists:  8 goals 7 assists.  Time per point scored:  16.7 mins mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 2nd.  Consistency 9/25  36%          Last 5 return rate:  2/5    How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow: 0

2 goals and 2 assists in his last 3 games plus a good set of fixtures and no blank gameweeks are the attraction for Lambert.  He also has pens and direct free kicks.  With Osvaldo gone he also has a secure place again.  Doesn’t really have that much in the way of shooting stats but does create chances for others.  Returns though are bang on where he was last year.  Like anyone at this price needs patience and luck to hold him at the right time.  Has gone 4 games without returning twice and 5 games without returning once this season.  These can be attributable to fixtures to some degree but not entirely.  The next fixtures do give some hope though

West Ham (A)
Liverpool (H)

7.  Giroud (£8.7m)

  • Goals and assists:  10 goals 6 assists.  Time per point scored:  17.0 mins mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 19th.  Consistency 13/24  54%          Last 5 return rate:  2/5    How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow: 2

No returns in his last 2 and missing chances in high profile games isn’t the recipe for fantasy premier league manager patience.  Add to that a pretty streaky scoring pattern and lots of reports of tiredness and he’s not looking a favourite to hold onto.  Oh and the fixtures aren’t easy at the moment either. Still competing on 3 fronts so that rest wont be forthcoming.  Blank in GW29

Budget Strikers

Here’s a few strker options if you want to go cheap and invest further in your midfield

1.  Rodriguez (£6.7m)

10 goals and 3 assists this season but no returns in his last 2.  2 goals and  an assist in his last 5 and  returned 3 times in his last 5.  Fantasy premier league  time per point scored of   18.3m  is respectable for the price.   Not much in the way of underlying stats. Apart from at the beginning of the season before he got his place hasn’t gone more than 3 games without scoring.  As I said for Lambert no blanks in GW28/29 and good fixtures to come

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

West Ham (A)
Liverpool (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Norwich (H)
Tottenham (A)
Newcastle (H)

2.  Long (5.7m)

Looks a certain starter for Hull.   2 goals and 2 returning games in his 4 fanatsy premier league games with Hull.  fantasy premier league points per minute for Hull of 18.9 is ok for the price.  Could have a blank in GW29 if Hull  win the FA Cup replay against Brighton.  Long wont play that game as cup tied so will benefit from some rest.  Good fixtures

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Cardiff City (A)
Newcastle (H)
West Ham (A)
Man City (H)
West Brom (H)
Stoke City (A)

3.  K Jones (£4.6m)

Now played 3 games for Cardiff scoring 1 goal and if his finishing was better he would have had more.  Reasonable fixtures next and no blanks in GW28/29.  Mostly there so you can invest in your midfield.  The advantage though of his fixtures is that in GW29 he’s home to Fulham when you will have to play him. Main risk is newly established in the team with a manager changing things around which gives some gametime risk when you really don’t need it

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Hull City (H)
Tottenham (A)
Fulham (H)
Everton (A)
Liverpool (H)
West Brom (A)

4.  Chamakh

A xheap alternative to Jones with probably less gametime risk over the next fixtures if you want to invest in your midfield while still having cover for GW29.  Glen Murray is potentially a gametime threat but not match fit yet and Chamakh may suit Pulis’ style more.  No fixture risk as no blanks in GW28/29 and has an extra game somewhere down the line from postponed gameaway to Everton.  1 goal and an assist in his last 8 isn’t much of a recommendation but both of those returns have come in the last 3 games which shows a little resemblence of form.  Overall time per point scored of 26.5 minutes is horrendous.  GW29 fixture home to Southampton could be better.

Man Utd (H)
Swansea (A)
Southampton (H)
Sunderland (A)
Newcastle (A)
Chelsea (H)
