fantasy premier league game week 14 match overview Wednesday – Part 1

Gameweek analysis

Here’s the fantasy premier league game week match analysis for game week 14 Wednesday part 1

Spurs 2 Liverpool 1

Another Bale masterclass with a goal and assist slightly diminished by an OG and a YC . Although Dembele really isn’t a fantasy premier league player he is a new breed of defensive midfielders with that go forward dribbling ability which gives teams options other than the long pass to the forward.  He made such a difference to Spurs.

Liverpool totally deserved a point though and defended well apart from the 2 goals and continued their excellent defensive stats. Suarez again was the leader of the shooting stats followed by Bale who was followed closely by Enrique who’s looking like a real defensive option at the moment.  Suarez was double anyone else on pen box touches.  Chances created were evenly spread around.

Swansea 3 WBA 1

I’m starting to think that maybe Michu is fixture proof.  He’s top of the last 6 shooting stats for midfielders despite one of the most difficult fixture lists which isn’t getting any easier but he keeps scoring.  Obviously playing striker helps but  still its impressive stuff. Lukaku in my mind has such talent and physicality for a teenager that I think he will go on to be one of the worlds best strikers (famous last words!) but for fantasy premier league managers the rotation is frustrating.  The Swansea defence was excellent,  WBA not so much.

Shooting stats were led by the goal scorers Michu and Routledge with Lukaku the only other player to make an impression. Pen box touches were the same 3 behind Pablo who led the chances created column and bagged 2 assists.  I’m not totally sold on him as an assist based player with no real shooting stats but maybe worth monitoring.

Wigan 0 Man City 2

Tevez on the bench was a big surprise considering he was rested on the weekend.  Going out of all the cups doesn’t seem to have lessened Mancini’s desire to rotate although I can only assume this is in preparation for Xmas.  Both defences had good stats without being outstanding.  Goal scorer Ballotelli and Kone led the shooting stats with YYT and Gomez close behind.   Kone, YYT, Aguero and Silva led the pen box touches although Aguero and Silvas shooting stats were poor for what is quite a juicy fixture.  Chances created column was led by Silva.

Man U 1 West Ham 0

RVP played which was a gamble in itself for fantasy premier league managers giving him the captains armband.  Interestingly no rotation for Rafael which was good news for his fantasy premier league owners. Defensive stats weren’t great from either team but Utd have the fixtures to have defenders in your fantasy premier league team.

Hernadez and goal scorer RVP led the shooting stats followed by Rooney and Nolan.  Pen box touches comfortably Hernandez, then Carroll, RVP and surprisingly Rafael. Chances created were led by RVP followed by Hernandez Rafael and Cole.
