Fantasy premier league – game week 29 – stats analysis – midfielders and defenders

Gameweek analysis

Here’s the fantasy premier league underlying stats analysis for game week 29 midfielders and defenders.

So just to recap and for those new to the site here’s  how the underlying game week stat analysis works now.  I’m essentially going to concentrate on the shooting stats for the all matches plus the last 6 fantasy premier league games and the last game week and now the last 3 gameweeks.  I’ll do this in a division between Strikers and Midfield in 2 posts.  This will give you a good idea of who’s got the best underlying stats in the shooting area.  Although I think these stats are very secondary to shooting, as an additional bit of info I will give the best chances  created in all matches and the last 6.  The stats are subjective with an interpretation of shots, shots  in box and accuracy

Heres a few things I’ve added over the last few weeks

1.  There’s starting to be enough data and variations in game time that I’m taking in to account shots and chances per minute which means there maybe some variations to last week.

2.  On the all matches ranking and the last 6 shooting stats list I’ve added “CC” next to their name if they’re also in the last 6 chances created top 10.  That will let you easily see if they have another string to their bow of assist potential (however unreliable  the correlation is)

I wont analyse the player implications for these stats in this article but in the “ones to watch” articles they will be an integral part

Summary

Here’s the summary if you cant be bothered reading all the tables

Bale is undoubtedly the top midfielder and this is reflected in the stats

Michu is next for my money with his underlying stats standing up despite a mini drought, although its very close with Walcott who’s just total class

Fellaini and Nolan have the underlying pedigree this season and have now shown some recent form although Fellaini has some positional issues dropping to CDM to regularly and Nolan just cant convert but surely will soon with the stats

The 2 up and coming players in underlying stats are undoubtedly Downing and Oscar and if you want to take a mid price punt then they are an option.

Sissoko isnt that convincing in the stats but has returned well and has a real bandwagon about him.

The most notable absentee is Mata.  Mr consistent like RVP seems to have totally vanished on the underlying stats front although its only 2 without returns.  the home game with west ham and Sunderland in the next 3 is very tempting to hold on though given his record this season.
