fantasy premier league – game week 3 Liverpool v Arsenal the immediate reaction

various

Wow which fantasy premier league managers  would have guessed this outcome.  Another game another clean sheet and 2 new players scoring.

 Liverpool 0 Arsenal 2

The first 3 consecutive opening clean sheets for 88 years apparently.  Who would have thought after last year.

Liverpool line up in 4-3-3 with a more expected back 4 of Johnson, Enrique Agger and Skrtel.  a mid 3 of Allen Sahin and Gerrard with Suarez flanked by Borini and Sterling.  Arsenal played 4-2-3-1 with Giroud up top and Podolski, Cazorla  and the Ox , the 2 screening midfielders of Arteta and Diaby in front of Jenkinson Gibbs mertesacker and Vermalen.

It was men against boys though although the stats didnt reflect this.  Arsenal were fantastic and Cazorla especially was brilliant with a goal and assist.  podolski scored and was very good but Diaby was the other star and has had a massive impact on the clean sheet record.  Arsenals fixtures are slowly improving  and only  Chelsea and Manchester city punctuate otherwise good fixtures and suddenly Cazorla becomes an option.  In addition Gibbs and Jenkinson are looking strong options in defence although Sagna is getting closer to a return.

Liverpool weren’t good at all the defence is seriously hampered by Reina at the moment and the passing was sloppy. No one looks like a real option at the moment.  The so called big players of Gerrard and Suarez were poor and only Joe Allen in the Sky option looks at all viable.  Certainly there are none in fantasy premier league.  The fixtures get better in fantasy premier league after Sunderland away and Utd at home so theres still a couple of weeks to assess the new Rodgers regime for fantasy premier league managers.
