fantasy premier league game week 6 – Saturday the immediate reaction part 2

Here’s the fantasy premier league immediate reaction to the remaining Saturday game week 6 games including line up match and player analysis

Fulham 1 Man City 2

Fulham line up in their 4-4-1-1 with Petric coming in for Berba and Rodellaga staying in behind.  Ruiz replaced cheapie Kacaniklic which is surely now a sign to sell.  I had thought his success would mean he would stay in the team but it seems that Ruiz is more important to Jol

For Man City Lescott was rested for rookie Nastasic and Zabaleta kept his place at RB. It seems now the only safe defensive options are Kompany or Hart and Lescott must really have a question mark over him.  Silva got the nod over Nasri for the 1 attacking midfielder away from home that Mancini seems to favour and this is what you have to live with if you want a chunk of the City creative midfield.  YYT and Garcia were the CM’s and they are looking reasonably stable selection wise.  Upfront despite some noise from various sources.  Tevez and Aguero started

The game started with one of the softest pens you could ever see for Fulham with Petric dispatching.  The first half then became the City search for an equaliser with the main point to note being Silva coming inside with Tevez giving up space  and Zabaleta showing how he really has adapted to getting forward from the RB position.  He was constantly getting in behind the defence.    It was no surprise that the equaliser from Aguero started on the right.

City pressing for the winner continued in the 2nd half and it was inevitable really when it happened.  Edin Dzeko showed how he doesn’t need to start to score

Silva surprisingly again lead the scoring stats with Aguero close behind.  If he were assured of starts he would start to look like a real option.  Tevez was relatively quiet drifting off the front to give space for Silva to run into.  Silva and Aguero alos led the chances created column.  Petric was probably the biggest threat for Fulham although he didnt really register

Reading 2 Newcastle 2

Reading made changes to the defence with Mariappa coming in for Pearce and Cummings in for Gunter.  Kebe and Hunt also started

Newcastle lined up as expected with Bigiramana coming in for the injured Cabaye

Reading showed that they can be a real attcking threat and ahould have won the game.  Demba Ba was fantastic, scored twice (once with his hand) and led the shooting stats.  Noel Hunt and Kebe scored for Reading and Hunt Hunt was second in the shooting stats. Other popular Newcastle players  Ben Arfa and Cisse were relatively quiet

Stoke 2 Swansea 0

Stoke lined up as expected with Cameron at RB for Wilkinson.  Adam and NZonzi look  established at CM and Kightly and Whelan on the flanks with Walters and Crouch up front.

For Swansea cheapie Davies started again at LB not that there’s anything to recommend the Swansea defence with at the moment.  Pablo continues to get the nod over Routledge and Graham started up front

Swansea lost this game with 74% possession because they just couldn’t defend Peter Crouch.  You know he’s going to be the target at set pieces and when he had to stoop to get the first header and he ends up being “marked” by Ki then you’re doing something wrong.  The 2nd goal was almost as laughable as Swansea just couldn’t clear a cross in to Crouch and he got the tap in to get 2 goals.

Crouch led the underlying shooting stats not surprisingly with near perfect figures.  With Stokes fixtures finally getting better he looks likely to improve on his 7.4% ownership quickly.  Walters was 2nd behind him for shooting stats with Graham the most threatening for Swansea.  Michu and Dyer were both very quiet with nothing to recommend them for their army of fantasy premier league owners.  They have Reading next and should they lose or not score there then look for massive selling .  If you do own any Swansea players dont sell them now.

Sunderland 1 Wigan 0

Last on MOTD, last on the immediate reaction and last in our line up articles (at least thats alphabetical).

For Sunderland Bramble held his place with Cuellar injured and Gardner and Rose continued as FBs.  Johnson and McLean were on the flanks and Larsson moved inside with Colback as Cattermole is injured.  Fletcher and Sessegnon started up front

No real surprises for Wigan with Gomez coming in for the injured Di Santo

Wigan started the game the strongest and were only kept out by 2 wonder saves from Mignolet.  Gomez got sent off early in the 2nd half  and it was here the initiative was handed to Sunderland after them being on the back foot.  Fletcher scored clinically from an james McLean cross and this is how the game ended.

Kone  led the shooting stats and looks a real option when the fixtures get better.   Fletcher was next in line on the shooting stats but for me he just doesn’t shoot enough and he will burn out.  Sunderlands fixtures start to improve soon but in GW7 they face a trip to City.

Thats it then on to GW7
