The Bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players in the gameweek

Alexis Sanchez £10.4m

2 opportunist goals against Sunderland gifted by defensive errors have meant that Sanchez has scored 3 goals and an assist in his last 2 after blanking in the previous 2 before that.  That gives him a very respectable FPL point every 11.1 minutes better than any midfielder last season.  He’s also got evry good underlying stats showing the results are no fluke.  He’s yet to make an impression on our top FPL managers though.  Only owned by 1.  If you’re going to buy then home to Burnley is the ideal time

Next 6 fixtures:

Burnley (H)
Swansea (A)
Man Utd (H)
West Brom (A)
Southampton (H)
Stoke (A)

Berahino £5.9m

His pen duties rewarded him again in the home game for WBA against Crystal Palace.  He’s now scored 5 goals in the last 4 games and has scored in  all the  last 4.  An FPL point every 15.5 minute and a consistency rating of 56% is pretty impressive for the value.  Also has good underlying shooting stats.  Leicester and Newcastle next  is a good time to buy

Leicester (A)
Newcastle (H)
Chelsea (A)
Arsenal (H)
West Ham (H)
Hull (A)

Sakho £5.7m

Another cheap striker on fire.  Incredibly scored in 5 consecutive games for West Ham  and returned in all 6 games he’s started.  Up there with the top players for shooting stats as well so this is no lucky streak.  An FPL point every 11.4 minutes and a consistency rating of 86% is incredible stuff.    Generally good fixtures in the next 6 although Stoke away next is a tricky one.  Came off with a shoulder injury which needs monitoring

Stoke (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Everton (A)
Newcastle (H)
West Brom (A)
Swansea (H)

Pelle £8.3m

Just an assist for Southampton against Stoke although hit the woodwork twice and had numerous chances to score.  Has been nothing short of a revelation bringing his phenomenal scoring record from Holland to the premier league.  Now 6 goals and 3 assists from his first 9 and has shooting and creating chances underlying stats which are as good as anyone.  This scoring run isn’t luck as a 56% consistency return rate shows.  3 good fixtures before they get tough

Hull (A)
Leicester (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)
Arsenal (A)
Man Utd (H)

Bertrand £5.4m

2 consecutive clean sheets makes it 5 out of the first 9 games for Southampton.  Thats more clean sheets than anyone else and they’ve also only conceded 5 goals.  Thats 4 less than the next team Chelsea who have conceded 9.  Only Alderweireld is cheaper than Bertrand and history shows that Alderweireld has little attacking potential.  Bertrand has already scored a goal and an assist and always looks to get forward.  3 good fixtures before they get very tricky

Hull (A)
Leicester (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)
Arsenal (A)
Man Utd (H)

The Sinking Ships

ie the 5 most transferred out so far in the game week

Sterling £8.9m

Despite looking like he was on the periphery he did have more shots than anyone else.  Has often been the star for Liverpool despite their pretty ordinary form which culminated in the poor finishing of Balotelli against Hull who should be a good goal scoring opportunity away from home.  Still Sterling as good underlying stats as any midfielder.  The fixtures aren’t too bad apart from Chelsea.  Only 2 assists in the last 4 games is the reason though people are losing faith

Newcastle (A)
Chelsea (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Stoke (H)
Leicester (A)
Sunderland (H)

Ulloa £5.7m

Another extremely quiet game which matches his 4 games without a return.  No underlying stats to really give you any hope either.  His record in the Championship was good but nothing special so can’t fall back on that either.  Fixtures are still good though for those with faith

West Brom (H)
Southampton (A)
Sunderland (H)
QPR (A)
Liverpool (H)
Aston Villa (A)

Diego Costa £10.9m

Conflicting messages all over the place this week as to whether he would play and in the end the Chelsea striker didn’t.  Slowly dropping in price towards his opening price of £10.5m.  Wont play in the Capital One against Shrewsbury so gets a week off and interestingly it’s the worst defence in the league next  in QPR at home.  Away to Maribor in the Champions League after that could even allow him to rest.  So an interesting time to make a sell decision.  9 goals in 7 games.  An FPL point every 10.8 minutes.  Excellent underlying stats and a consistency return rate of 86% show the quality.

QPR (H)
Liverpool (A)
West Brom (H)
Sunderland (A)
Spurs (H)
Newcastle (A)

Naismith £5.2m

No goals in the last 2 games against VillA and Burnley and a wider position against Burnley plus the emergence of alternative cheapie strikers in Sakho and Berahino have unsurprisingly seen the sale of the Everton forward.  No underlying shooting or creating chances stats plus the emergence of Barkley to take his CAM position also don’t help.  Fixtures are good, it’s just whether he will be able to take advantage of it

Swansea (H)
Sunderland (A)
West Ham (H)
Spurs (A)
Hull (H)
Man City (A)

Ivanovic

Sent off against Man Utd after 2 yellow cards.  However the Chelsea defender will serve that suspension in the Capital One Cup so will be available for GW10.  Despite great underlying attacking stats hasn’t returned a goal or assist in 6 games despite costing £1.3m more than say the cheapest Chelsea defender of Azpilicueta (currently suspended).  Only 3 clean sheets in the first 9 games haven’t helped.  They have been unlucky though with late goals and are the best defensive team with Southampton.  It’s just whether he’s worth that price

QPR (H)
Liverpool (A)
West Brom (H)
Sunderland (A)
Spurs (H)
Newcastle (A)
