fantasy premier league gameweek 11 – the early bandwagons and sinking ships
The Bandwagons
The 5 most transferred in players so far this gameweek
Alexis Sanchez
No surprises after 5 goals and an assist in his last 3 games. Reasonable fixtures coming up, great underlying stats in terms of shooting and creating chances and a very high attacking position. Sanchez has also been consistent and has returned in 6 of the 9 games he’s played in
Next 6 fixtures:
Swansea (A)
Man Utd (H)
West Brom (A)
Southampton (H)
Stoke (A)
Newcastle (H)
Chambers
Chambers is excellent value for an Arsenal defence which although hasn’t performed that well so far with 2 clean sheets did get 17 clean sheets last year. That was only bettered by Chelsea. A reasonable run of fixtures coming up and with Debuchy out until Christmas he’s great value. Doesn’t have much attacking form despite the goal and assist in this game but without repeating myself too much great value.
Swansea (A)
Man Utd (H)
West Brom (A)
Southampton (H)
Stoke (A)
Newcastle (H)
Downing
A goal and an assist for the West Ham midfielder after 2 blanks prior to that. Played on the right of the midfield and seems to vary that position with playing at the tip of the diamond. Doesn’t really have much shooting form despite the goal but does create chances for the 2 in form strikers. This is about value and reasonable fixtures
Aston Villa (H)
Everton (A)
Newcastle (H)
West Brom (A)
Swansea (H)
Sunderland (A)
Berahino
His first blank game against Leicester for the WBA striker after 4 games with consecutive goal scoring returns totalling 5 goals. Has got good consistency stats for his value returning in 50% of his games. It was a quiet game for him that Leicester dominated . Does have pretty good shooting stats but doesn’t really create chances. One of the better options for creating funds for Sanchez. Fixtures are mixed though. Newcastle next but then Chelsea and Arsenal. Has pens which has been a big advantage
Newcastle (H)
Chelsea (A)
Arsenal (H)
West Ham (H)
Hull (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Pelle
Only his 4th blank in 10 games in what has been a fantastic start for the Southampton striker. That form is no fluke either as he has underlying shooting and creating chances stats as good as anyone. Despite his blank still played well. The fixtures are about to turn though after 2 good ones.
Leicester (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)
Arsenal (A)
Man Utd (H)
Burnley (A)
The Sinking Ships
The 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek
Sterling
The Liverpool midfielder was shipped out on the right flank in an absolutely dire performance from Liverpool and a very quiet one from Sterling. It’s now 2 consecutive blanks and 5 games without a goal. Chelsea next also helps to put that nail in the coffin. The high ownership (although dropping quickly) and the good fixtures afterwards are the risks
Chelsea (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Stoke (H)
Leicester (A)
Sunderland (H)
Man Utd (A)
Siggy
Only 2 returning games in the last 7 games and those were assists. Only 1 goal and that was in GW1 plus Arsenal and Man City next. Add to this list the fact that he has no underlying shooting stats and ok underlying creating chances stats. The positives are his central attacking advanced position, good set piece involvement, high ownership and his understanding with in form Bony. He also has Palace and QPR at home if you’re planning on riding out those fixtures
Arsenal (H)
Man City (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
QPR (H)
West Ham (A)
Spurs (H)
Di Maria
After a great start it’s 2 consecutive blanks for the United winger. Probably unfair to judge the last game as the sending off changed the balance of the game restricting his opportunities. Does have very good shooting stats and creating chances stats though to give hope. Home to Palace is a good time to hold as well especially with his high ownership
Crystal Palace (H)
Arsenal (A)
Hull (H)
Stoke (H)
Southampton (A)
Liverpool (H)
Ulloa
5 consecutive blanks and all quiet games is now made worse by being on the bench against WBA. It’s also away to one of the best defences away next in Southampton and no underlying stats to fall back on. There’s also a number of alternative cheapie options
Southampton (A)
Sunderland (H)
QPR (A)
Liverpool (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)
Silva
Injured for the next 3 weeks and expected back for GW12 after the international break. Despite often controlling games in doing so he’s only returned a goal or assist in 3 games. With a number of other options in midfield it’s a tough call to hold
GW11 QPR (A)
Swansea (H)
Southampton (A)
Sunderland (A)
Everton (H)
Leicester (A)
