5 of the top FPL managers moved up in rank and 5 down in a mixed gameweek. If you’re 1 of those moving down you maybe feeling not so bad as one of these managers who took out KDB and Vardy for Aguero and Gosling.
If you haven’t seen this before then , this article includes the scores of the top 10 FPL managers as well as the team selection points. These are just not the current top 10 but 10 managers who’ve been successful over the last 3 years. The 10 managers have now never been outside the top 10k in the last 3 years (30 times playing FPL). The article is all about giving you another view point other than mine. Also the managers I have picked have been consistent showing they can adapt to different seasons.

I still haven’t recalculated the below historic stats but it wont be significantly changed.
I’ll give the FPL managers stats, their GW13 scores and then outline their teams and structure. The stats of the top 10 managers are incredible.
1. The overall average finishing position of the top 10 managers is 1,464
2. The top 10 FPL managers have not been out of the top 10k in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)
3. 9 of the 10 have finished in the top 1,000
4. 5 of the 10 managers have finished in the top 100
GW14 average score and rank
The average score of the managers in GW14 was 61 compared to the average of 51. Thats 10 points and 20% above the average. The high score of the 10 was 71. The low score was 47. A high spread of 24 for the average. 5/10 had red arrows for a drop in overall rank.
The average overall rank of the top 10 FPL managers worsened slightly to 275k from 239k last gameweek. The best rank is 35k and the lowest 682k.
If you’re interested my score was a good one at 70 despite selling KDB which gave me a move up the ranks to 533k from 624k. An increase of rank of 91k . I’m now ahead of 2 of the top 10 managers
The average team value
The average team value is up very slightly down at £104.3 at £104.5 last week.

Kolarov Moreno and McCarthy are in 7/10 of the FPL managers teams
Richards and Bellerin is in 6 of the 10 FPL managers teams
Butland Hennessey, Van Dyk, and Simpson and are in 3 of the 10 FPL managers teams
GK/Defs by team
C Palace GK/Defs are in 13 of the 10 FPL managers teams (I’ve counted both Hennessey and McCarthy)
Man City GK/Defs are in 8 of the 10 FPL managers teams
Liverpool GK/Defs are in 7 of the 10 FPL managers teams
Arsenal, Aston Villa and Southampton are in 6 of the FPL managers teams
Stoke Leicester and Man Utd are in 4 of the FPL managers teams
Midfielders
Mahrez and Sanchez are in 10/10 FPL managers teams
De Bruyne is in 5/10 FPL managers teams
Mane and Ozil are in 4/10 FPL managers teams
Westwood is in 3/10 FPL managers teams

Lukaku is in 8/10 FPL managers teams
Vardy and Aguero is in 7/10 FPL managers teams
Kane is in 6 of the 10 FPL managers teams
GW14 Captain Choice
Lukaku was captain of 6 of the FPL managers teams
Aguero was captains in 4/10 FPL managers teams
How many have used their wildcard/chips
10/10 have used their wildcards. 6 of the 10 has used their all out attack chip.

Pelle was transferred out by all but 1 of his 8 FPL managers owners
KDB was transferred out by 3 FPL managers
No one else was transferred out more than once

Kane was transferred in by 3/10 FPL managers

Team structure
Typically the GK was a cheap GK with McCarthy/Hennesey as a reserve although 3 now are using an elite GK of DeGea or Begovic (question that definition at the moment)
In the main 2 or 3 defenders from the group of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs were in the team
There was virtually an equal amount of teams with 4 midfielders and a £4.5m 5th mid. The other half played with 5 proper mids.
There was a mixture of values of strikers
More and more players over £6.0m are outside the teams of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs. Those are Pelle (1) Vardy (7) Mane (4), Mahrez (10)
Here’s a team to represent that. The value is an unsustainable £107m though so just for illustration
