As I said above there’s a table where I’ve ranked the players but there’s a load of stats to help you make your own decision.  There’s also a key below the table to explain the stats and then some narrative on the player plus the next 6 fixtures.

Costa

I goal in his last 3 and less than 1 bonus point per goal has made him a consistent if relatively low returner for the price.  Will keep scoring though as the focus of the Chelsea attack. Underlying stats have dropped off recently and the fixtures are mixed. Still in a world where alot of FPL managers have spare cash so his ownership and consistent threat make him a difficult person to sell

Stoke (A)
West Ham (H)
Southampton (A)
Spurs (A)
Newcastle (H)
Swansea (A)

Bony

A consistent and ruthless finisher with 4 goals and an assist in his last 5 games returning in all 5 games.  Great underlying stats and good fixtures coming up.  Has pens.  Should be fairly rotation free over the xmas period.

Hull (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Liverpool (A)
QPR (A)
West Ham (H)
Chelsea (H)

Austin

Coming off suspension, a weeks rest should make him fairly rotaion free over the xmas period. 2 goals and 2 assists in his last 3 games.  OK underlying shooting stats and 3 good home games in the next 4 are the attraction.  Has pens

West Brom (H)
Arsenal (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Swansea (H)
Burnley (A)
Man Utd (H)

Sakho

1 goal in his last 3 have followed 5 consecutive games with goals.  Great underlying shooting stats back that up.  It’s just whether the man from the french 2nd tier can keep it up.  Great home game next against Leicester but after that it’s Chelsea and Arsenal

Leicester (H)
Chelsea (A)
Arsenal (H)
West Brom (H)
Swansea (A)
Hull (H)

RVP

No striker has got more FPL points in the last 4 games than RVP.  In fact it’s 4 goals and 2 assists in his last 4 and 3 double figure FPL point hauls.  Underlying stats though are fairly ordinary even in those last 4 games.  Is this the old RVP or just a cameo before last years returns?  Thats the question.  Will have pens.

Aston Villa (A)
Newcastle (H)
Spurs (A)
Stoke (A)
Southampton (H)
QPR (A)

Rooney

A consistent FPL scorer over the seasons.  A goal against Liverpool has made it 3 goals and an assist over the last 4 games.  The issue is his positional risk.  He played in midfield against Liverpool although you could argue that was a one off because of Wilson being in the side due to his pace on the break.  It’s still possible that Rooney could return to the striking position partnering RVP as that was a specific tactical selection of LVG.  Doesn’t have any shooting stats but that historically hasn’t been an issue. If he plays striker he’s a major threat

Aston Villa (A)
Newcastle (H)
Spurs (A)
Stoke (A)
Southampton (H)
QPR (A)

Cisse

3 goals in his last 3.  Mixed fixtures but 4 home games in the next 6.  Good shooting stats.

Sunderland (H)
Man Utd (A)
Everton (H)
Burnley (H)
Chelsea (A)
Southampton (H)

Pelle

Only 1 goal in gameweek 8 amongst difficult fixtures has seen the consistent selling of the striker.  Underlying stats have been dropping off as well.  Fixtures have yet to turn for the better

Everton (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Chelsea (H)
Arsenal (H)
Man Utd (A)
Newcastle (A)

Kane

The Spurs cheapie has become a fixture in the side.  His goal against Swansea broke the 2 game duck.  No real underlying stats but does give the option to invest in your midfield if thats needed at the moment.  Good fixtures to come

Burnley (H)
Leicester (A)
Man Utd (H)
Chelsea (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Sunderland (H)

Giroud

2 excellent finishes against Newcastle follows 3 blanks although 1 was as a sub . Excellent underlying stats though really give hope for the future. The next 3 fixtures give hope for goals

Liverpool (A)
QPR (H)
West Ham (A)
Southampton (A)
Stoke (H)
Man City (A)
