The bandwagons

These are the 5 most transferred in players so far in the gameweek

Downing

A goal and a maximum bonus for the West Ham CAM makes it a goal and 2 assists plus 6 bonus points in his last 3 games.  Leicester at home next makes him an obvious target for GW17. After that though it’s Chelsea and Arsenal so the fixtures do take a down turn.  Downing is one of the best in creating chances and he has the advantage of Carroll and Sakho in red hot form.  He doesn’t really get into the box and shoot though and his goal was from range against Sunderland

Next 6 fixtures:

Leicester (H)
Chelsea (A)
Arsenal (H)
West Brom (H)
Swansea (A)
Hull (H)

Clichy

2 consecutive clean sheets and 3 in the last 4, some great fixtures coming up  plus Clichy being easily the cheapest defensive player have made him a big attraction.  He’s also got 2 bonus points in both the last 2 clean sheets.  The negative aspect is the return of Kolarov who should rotate with Clichy.  In fact Kolarovs attacking instincts could see him take the easier games which are more likely to generate clean sheets

Crystal Palace (H)
West Brom (A)
Burnley (H)
Sunderland (H)
Everton (A)
Arsenal (H)

Hazard

With Fabregas and Costa such high ownership players Hazard has been left aside by a number of managers and after his 14 point goal and assist haul at home to Hull we’re seeing a catch up.  He’s now scored in all of his last 4 home games.  3 out of the 4 games bringing a maximum bonus.  His underlying shooting and creating chances stats are also excellent and although he is a risky captain choice he does have big score potential.  As a bonus he also has pens.  Reasonable good fixtures next

Stoke (A)
West Ham (H)
Southampton (A)
Spurs (A)
Newcastle (H)
Swansea (A)

Giroud

Some ruthless finishing from Giroud after 3 games finishing with a blank.  Has historically shown difficulty in finishing chances at an efficient rate.  Fixtures are a little mixed. After being rested with injuries earlier in the season he should be fairly clear of festive period rotation.  Interestingly Cazorla took the penalty rather than Giroud who would have taken it last season.

Liverpool (A)
QPR (H)
West Ham (A)
Southampton (A)
Stoke (H)
Man City (A)

Eriksen

A goal, assist and 3 maximum bonus points shows what an explosive player he can be.  It’s now his 4th double figure haul although interestingly he’s gone 3 consecutive games without a return twice this season and Sundays 13 point haul follws 2 consecutive blanks.  However while he doesn’t really have anything in the way of shooting stats he does have set pieces and a knack for getting into the box.  Burnley and Leicester next are huge attractions

Burnley (H)
Leicester (A)
Man Utd (H)
Chelsea (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Sunderland (H)

The sinking ships

These are the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek.

Aguero

Out for up to 6 weeks is a lifetime away in FPL terms at this time of the season with multiple fixtures.  A definite sell

Crystal Palace (H)
West Brom (A)
Burnley (H)
Sunderland (H)
Everton (A)
Arsenal (H)

Pelle

If you held on to Pelle for the weekends game against Burnley you would have been mightily disappointed with his and Southamptons performance in their 1-0 defeat.  It’s now 1 goal since GW8 although there have been 2 assists.  Over the season his underlying shooting and creating chances stats have been good but they have dropped off in recent games which is understandable given the fixtures.  Unfortunateky there’s no immediate end in sight with Chelsea , Arsenal, Everton and Man Utd in the next 6

Everton (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Chelsea (H)
Arsenal (H)
Man Utd (A)
Newcastle (A)

Chadli

On the bench in the last 3 games culminating with 8 minutes on the weekend against Swansea.  Hard to see any light at the end of the tunnel for him to get back into the team apart from some festive rotation.  2 great fixtures next it’s just will he play.

Burnley (H)
Leicester (A)
Man Utd (H)
Chelsea (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Sunderland (H)

Berahino

It’s all gone horribly wrong for one of the first cheapie strikers to emerge this season.  2 games as sub (the 2nd on the weekend)  followed 5 consecutive blanks.  I have to admire anyone who had the patience to hold onto him until this gameweek.  I had imagined even his Mum had dropped him from her FPL team by now

QPR (A)
Man City (H)
Stoke (A)
West Ham (A)
Hull (H)
Everton (A)

Sterling

Played as a striker after Rodgers finally realised that Lambert and Balotelli are a pretty pathetic replacement for Suarez. Shame he didn’t think of putting the £40m he played for Moreno and Markovic towards a decent striker.  Oh wait he also turned down Remy for £8m who I believe hasn’t missed any of the limited games for his supposed knee injury.

Anyway Sterling was either unlucky or incredibly wasteful with a number of chances depending on your view.  No goals since GW5 although he has got 4 assists as he’s been often shunted wide.  If you’ve held for this time Arsenal next might be a good time to sell although he could be a tempting choice if he continues playing as a striker.

Arsenal (H)
Burnley (A)
Swansea (H)
Leicester (H)
Sunderland (A)
Aston Villa (A)
